The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a scam/s where an individual is impersonating sheriff’s deputies from Washington County and falsely claiming that victims have outstanding warrants. It has caused several reports from residents who have received calls from these scammers. Our deputies do not make phone calls informing of warrants or request phone payments. Do not provide personal information, and if ever in doubt, hang up and call local law enforcement directly.
