K-9 Ivar Assists in Arrests
18 Feb 2025 Deputies Davis and Wallace were on patrol on State Route 7 at Ayer’s Boulevard when a vehicle bearing OH registration was observed, driven by Joanne Savage. Confirmation was received that Savage had an expired license.
Contact with Savage was made. Savage was asked to step from the vehicle and asked if there was anything illegal inside the vehicle, to which she replied her pipe.
K-9 Ivar was deployed and conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and indicated on the driver’s side door.
Savage was read her Miranda Rights and she advised she had her pipe in a wooden box. Also located in the wooden box, along with the glass pipe, was a snort straw and 6.64 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Joanne Louise Savage, age 41, 150 Camelot Road, Belpre, OH, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with possession of drugs, a 5th degree felony.
Savage appeared in Marietta Municipal Court on 19 Feb 2025 and was given a $2500 bond and was later released from jail.
18 Feb 2025 Deputies Wallace and Davis were on patrol and observed a vehicle bearing OH registration almost cause an accident by making an abrupt right turn onto Gantsville Road, Belpre Township.
A traffic stop was initiated and the passenger was observed bending over making feverous movements, prior to contact.
Deputies made contact with the passenger, Lacie Faddis, and K-9 Ivar was deployed to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. K-9 Ivar indicated at the driver’s door.
Faddis was asked to step out of the vehicle and a pat down for weapons and a search of her person was completed. The groin area of Faddis had a hard foreign object and Faddis stated it was her belt. Faddis was placed in handcuffs and she stated it was her “bubble”.
Upon removing the “bubble” also located were 3 syringes, foil with residue, and snort straw.
Faddis advised she was diabetic however due to the location of the syringes, as well as the other items recovered, this would indicate these items were used for drug usage.
Faddis was advised of her Miranda Rights and she advised she shoved those items once we initiated the traffic stop.
Lacie Lynn Faddis, age 29, 805 Hope Drive, Athens, OH, was arrested and transported to Washington County Jail charged with tampering with evidence, a 3rd degree felony.
