28 Jan 2025 while on stationary Deputy Wallace observed a vehicle with a poorly lit registration.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was found to be Stratton Johnson.  Johnson gave consent to search the vehicle and his person and stated the passenger was Makayla McAtee.  McAtee consented to a search of her person as well.  As McAtee was being patted down, a hard foreign object was located in her groin area. When asked what this was, McAtee looked at Johnson and told him to tell Deputy Wallace.  McAtee was read her Miranda Rights and stated once the police cruiser lights were on for the traffic stop, Johnson took a cylinder container and handed it to her.  Johnson was read his Miranda Rights however would not speak to deputies about the incident.  The container with McAtee contained a snort straw, burnt foil with residue and 4.60 grams (total package weight) suspected methamphetamine. Mikayla Christine McAtee, age 27, 129 Franklin Street, Marietta, OH, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.  Stratton Wade Johnson, age 33, 205 Fay Avenue, Marietta, OH, was charged with possession of drugs and tampering with evidence.  Both were transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

31 Jan 2025 at approximately 2003 hours Deputy Boyd was dispatched to Muskingum Township, to a report of domestic violence.  Marquise Marshall had struck the complainant with an extension cord. The victim had marks on his stomach consistent with being struck by that type of object.  Marshall had begun screaming and yelling in the home and then proceeded to remove an extension cord and strike the victim.  After placing Marshall under arrest a search of his person revealed a glass smoking pipe with residue consistent with the use of methamphetamines.  Marquise Tyrone Marshall, age 28, Marietta, OH, was transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of domestic violence and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail between 6 Feb 2025:

Jeremy Lee Jones, age 47, Lancaster, OH, contempt of court, failure to appear.

Damanick Joseph Ryan Haught, Sr., age 31, Marion, OH, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, grand theft, 5 counts of forgery, all felonies.

Kasey Rhyan Stewart, age 29, Glen Morgan, WV, parole violation, a felony.

There are currently 23 women and 102 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
