17 Mar 2025 Deputy Groves began an investigation into a dog biting incident in Pioneer Township.
19 Mar 2025 Sgt. Stillson was dispatched to Stanleyville Road, Fearing Township, to check a driver believed to be passed out at the wheel. The Hyundai vehicle was located and the driver, Brad Harold Harris, was found to be operating the vehicle without a proper registration, and on a suspended license. A citation was issued to Harris, SW Massillon, OH, for driving on a suspended license.
20 Mar 2025 Deputy Groves received a call regarding dogs running loose in Lower Salem. The dog was reported to belong to Renee Luke. The dog had been secured and the individual wanted the deputy to pick up the dog. Deputy Groves observed the brown female Pit and knew this dog belonged to Renee Luke. This dog was then transported to the Humane Society where it will be held for pickup. 23 Mar 2025 another call was received from the same subject about another dog belonging to Luke. This dog was transported to the Humane Society by Deputy Norris. A summons is being requested for Renee Luke, age 43, 309 Main Street, Lower Salem, OH, on a charge of failure to restrain her dogs.
20 Mar 2025 at approximately 1916 hours Deputy Gerber was dispatched to Belpre Township to a report of Mario Scalzo becoming combative. Contact was made with the caller and it was reported that the caller and Scalzo were in an altercation about carrying groceries. Scalzo reportedly grabbed the victim by the collar of the shirt, tossing her back and forth like he was throwing her to the ground. The caller was also pushed multiple times towards the stairs. The caller was able to free herself from Scalzo and call for help. Mario Branden Scalzo, age 35, Little Hocking, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
21 Mar 2025 Deputy Gerber was on stationary patrol in the 26000 block of State Route 7 when he observed a blue Chevy Cavalier pass by his location with no visible registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 27000 block of State Route 7, Marietta Township. Deputy Wallace deployed K9 Mauser to conduct a free air sniff, in which Mauser indicated on the rear trunk of the vehicle. Occupants were removed from the vehicle and a pat down was completed with Shasta D. Farnese. Located was a silver in color glass smoking pipe with residue, and a yellow in color glass smoking pipe was located inside the vehicle. A summons is being requested for Shasta Danyelle Farnese, age 24, 27335 SR, Marietta, OH, on a charge of drug paraphernalia. A warning citation was issued for failure to display registration.
21 Mar 2025 Deputy Groves began an investigation in Dunham Township of a dog biting a postal worker.
22 Mar 2025 Deputy Davis issued a citation to Patrick A. Simmons, 900 Cherry Street, Pittsburgh, PA, for operating a passenger car at 85 mph in a 60 mph zone in Belpre Township.

Camaria Louise Hightower, age 20, Mount Healthy, OH, no operator’s license, a misdemeanor.
Linda Inez Leccese, age 30, Marietta, OH, engaging in solicitation and possession of cocaine, both felonies.
Howard Warren Guinn, age 54, Parkersburg, WV, aggravated menacing, and driving under suspension, both misdemeanors, and possession of drugs, a felony.
Adam Joseph Walker, age 21, Zanesville, OH, aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor.
Kyle Stevens Anderson, age 32, Marietta, OH, theft and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.
There are currently 27 women and 114 men incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
