16 Nov 2023 Deputy Windland responded to State Route 26, Marietta Township, to a report of Shawn Covey being disorderly. Covey was reported to be in a fit of rage over not getting a ride.  Covey had grabbed the victim’s throat impeding his normal breathing and threatened his life, causing him to have a minor injury.  Shawn Eugene Covey, age 46, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of strangulation and domestic violence.

17 Nov 2023 Lt. Hornbeck observed a gray Jeep Compass bearing Ohio Registration while in Newport Township, committing a traffic control device violation.  A traffic stop revealed the driver as Jared R. Pierce and passenger Chelsie Cochran.  While investigating the original mission of the stop, Cochran gave consent to search the car and Pierce was asked to step out of the vehicle.  Pierce was also asked to have a pat down conducted on his person, with him stating yes. A hard knot was located near the groin area which was immediately identified as contraband.  Pierce was asked to retrieve the item which consisted of 34.12 grams of packaged white powder.  Cochran stated that powder was in fact heroin.   Cochran confirmed knowledge of the sale of heroin, and a search of her bag revealed a meth pipe.  Chelsie M Cochran, age 30, 121 Warner Street, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with complicity in trafficking heroin, and possession of drug abuse instruments.  Jared R Pierce, age, 25, 711 Main Street, Sistersville, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in drugs.

17 Nov 2023 Deputy Tucker began an investigation into a damaged fence in Newport Township.

18 Nov 2023 three 911 hang up calls were received.

18 Nov 2023 deputies issued written/verbal warning citations for the following: speed, expired registration, and marked lanes.

18 Nov 2023 Sgt. Painter conducted a traffic stop in Dunham Township.  A vehicle was travelling at 90 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.  A citation was issued to Brandy N. Ferguson, 590 North Street, Stockport, OH, for speed.

18 Nov 2023 deputies completed sex offender compliance checks, residence checks, attempted/served civil process and/or warrants, conducted extra patrol requests, and school checks.

18 Nov 2023 Deputy Young, along with other deputies were dispatched to State Route 676, Watertown Township, to a report that Noah Gaskill was screaming out of control.   Deputies made contact at the residence where Noah reportedly had a verbal argument with Patricia Largent over Noah’s dog bed that had been washed, damaged, and thrown outside.  Gaskill was upset over this so he threw Largent’s dog bed outside as well. Largent became upset so she grabbed a knife and walked towards the door to cut up her dog bed so they would be even. Largent states Gaskill grabbed her and threw her on the couch and held her there.  Gaskill advised the same occurred, however he felt when Largent came toward him with the knife she was going to harm him.  Gaskill and Largent reported they were arguing throughout the day.  Patricia A Largent, age 50, and Noah Allen Harra Gaskill, age 19, 13363 State Route 676, Waterford, OH, will both be summoned into Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of disorderly conduct. 

19 Nov 2023 Deputy Tucker met with an individual who had left his truck parked running and it had been stolen from Marietta Township.  The vehicle is a 2007 Honda Accord. A suspect was confirmed from footage to be Dustin McKnight, age 38, 807 Belrock Avenue, Belpre, OH. A warrant for McKnight’s arrest on a charge of theft was filed and issued through Marietta Municipal Court.

19 Nov 2023 deputies met with an individual who was attempting to get her vehicle back.

20 Nov 2023 Deputy Tullius took possession of found drug paraphernalia for destruction.

20 Nov 2023 Khary D. Rogers, a current inmate, was found to have two felony warrants from the state of Tennessee.  These were for theft and burglary and a misdemeanor warrant for criminal trespass.  Rogers’ identity was confirmed and charges of fugitive from justice were filed on Khary Damar Rogers, age 31, 2568 Briar Lane, Toledo, OH.
