8 Nov 2023 six 911 hang up calls were received.

8 Nov 2023 deputies conducted residence checks, extra patrol requests, served/attempted to serve civil papers and/or warrants.

8 Nov 2023 the following written/verbal warning(s) for traffic violations: lanes of travel and speed.

8 Nov 2023 deputies checked disabled vehicles, suspicious vehicles and suspicious persons as they were observed and/or reported.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to a report of someone possibly tampering around a residence.  This was unfounded and aid was given to the individual.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to an alarm in Fearing Township.  This was found to be accidental.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to an alarm in Muskingum Township.  This was found to be accidental.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to a loose dog complaint in Salem Township. 

8 Nov 2023 a deputy conducted a welfare check on a dog in Salem Township.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy stood by with the Ohio State Patrol at an accident scene in Watertown Township.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy conducted a welfare check on a dog in Pioneer Township.

8 Nov 2023 a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on State Route 60.

8 Nov 2023 a report was made of two black cows running loose in Salem Township.

8 Nov 2023 Deputy Tucker, while traveling northbound near the 16-mile marker on I-77, Aurelius Township, conducted a traffic stop on a black Hyundai bearing Ohio registration due to fictitious plates. The driver was identified as Nicole J. Wenzel. A smell of marijuana was present and Wenzel was advised that a search of the vehicle would be done, however she was asked if there was anything on her which could be illegal. Wenzel produced a plastic container with a crystal-like substance and a white pill inside.  Wenzel stated it was gabapentin.  Wenzel was transported to the jail and during the booking process, after she was advised reference charges of conveyance once she passed the security entrance of the jail, she produced more of a crystal-like residue out of her pocket and had a “nugget” of a crystal-like substance concealed in her left hand, ultimately attempting to conceal it from officers.  The crystal-like substance was consistent with methamphetamine.   Nicole Jane Wenzel, age 37, 44491 Fairground Road, Apt. 28, Caldwell, OH, was charged with tampering with evidence, and illegal conveyance of drugs and possession of drugs. 

8 Nov 2023 Sgt. Painter, while stationary on I77 Muskingum Township, observed a passenger vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane.  The vehicle was targeted with radar, confirming 86 mph in a 70 mph zone.  A citation was issued to Diana E. Nolf, 8743 Waynesburg Drive, Waynesburg, OH, for speed.

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 8 Nov 2023:

Nicole Jane Wenzel, age 37, Caldwell, OH, tampering with evidence, illegal conveyance of drugs and possession of drugs, all felonies.

Daniel Trevy Mowrey, age 46, Belpre, OH, counterfeiting 4 counts, and tampering with evidence, all felonies.

Adam Lee Cook, age 37, Belpre, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.

Melissa Kay Sprouse, age 55, Parkersburg, WV, aggravated burglary, a felony.

Tiffany Dawn Bowman, age 34, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a felony.

There are currently 20 women and 74 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
