7 Nov 2023 a deputy met with an individual who had struck a deer in Watertown Township.

7 Nov 2023 deputies responded to numerous polling places within the county to provide assistance.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy stopped to check a subject walking that had rested for a moment.   Subject was asked to move off the roadway further.

7 Nov 2023 deputies responded to Barlow Township to a report of subject(s) target shooting. 

7 Nov 2023 a deputy recovered a wallet left at a polling location.  Subject was contacted and will be en-route to pick it up.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to Blennerhassett Township to a welfare check on an animal.  Subjects refused to open the door.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to conduct a welfare check on animals in Palmer Township.  This was unfounded.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy responded to an animal call of dogs running loose in Belpre Township.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy was asked to patrol for a vehicle lost in a Morgan County pursuit. 

7 Nov 2023 a deputy picked up a dog from Colegate Woods to transport to HSOV.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol in looking for a deer that was hit in a crash. 

7 Nov 2023 a deputy met with a citizen and their juvenile child in reference to being unruly.  The child was counseled on his behavior.

7 Nov 2023 a deputy met with a citizen and their juvenile child in reference to a mutual argument.

7 Nov 2023 Deputy Windland began an investigation into the theft of 5 books of lottery tickets.

7 Nov 2023 Deputy Windland, at 35000-B State Route 7, Newport Township, Roger Eugene Smith was found to have an active warrant out of Ritchie County, West Virginia. The warrant was filed on November 7, 2023, for bond revocation.  Smith was identified by his date of birth and social security number which matched the warrant hit confirmation.  Roger Eugene Smith, II, age 43, 404 New York Avenue, Harrisville, WV, was charged with being a fugitive from justice and was transported to the Washington County Jail.

Curtis Aaron Carper, age 46, possession of drugs, a felony.

William Elliott Jews III, age 20, Akron, OH, having weapons while under disability and tampering with evidence, both felonies.

Jasha Alexandria Gillard, age 18, Charleston, WV, possession of fentanyl and identity fraud, both felonies.

James Douglas Herko, age 67, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Stacy Adam Bennett, age 57, Weirton, WV, illegal processing of drug documents, a felony, and theft of credit cards, a misdemeanor.

Desiree Jane Hickel, age 33, Coolville, OH, receiving stolen property, a felony, driving under suspension, operating a motor vehicle bearing an invalid license plate and driving in marked lanes, all misdemeanors.

Roger Eugene Smith, II, age 43, Harrisville, WV, fugitive from justice.

There are currently 21 women and 79 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
