21 Sept 2023 a welfare check was conducted on a suspicious vehicle at a business, requested by employee(s), in Pioneer Township.

21 Sept 2023 deputies completed sex offender compliance check(s), residence checks, and extra patrol requests as needed.

21 Sept 2023 a check was requested for subjects being on property in Waterford Township.  No one was located upon conducting the search.

21 Sept 2023 a report of a man lying along State Route 821 was received.  Subject was checked and found he had stopped to rest as he was walking to his destination.

21 Sept 2023 a deputy assisted the New Matamoras PD with a dog complaint.

21 Sept 2023 deputies responded to Barlow Township to an alarm call.  Buildings were secure, no signs of criminal activity.

21 Sept 2023 a welfare check was conducted on a subject in Palmer Township.

21 Sept 2023 a deputy responded to check a subject in a group home who had made threats. 

21 Sept 2023 a report of a trespassing subject was made.  Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to make contact with the individual who had already left the scene.

21 Sept 2023 a report of threats by an ex-employee was made.  A deputy read the texts and did not feel the comments were threats, however advised the ex-employee to cease any contact with the ex-employer.

21 Sept 2023 a deputy checked a suspicious vehicle parked behind the school on State Route 550.  Subjects were going through the trash, and had permission to do so.

21 Sept 2023 a deputy met with a subject who had found a tracker on a vehicle he recently sold.  The subject was advised of his options.

21 Sept 2023 deputies checked on a vehicle in Pioneer Township with its flashers on.  Subject was dropping off a passenger.

21 Sept 2023 an alarm in Belpre Township was reported.  Nothing suspicious.

21 Sept 2023 the following written/verbal warnings were issued for traffic violations:  traffic control device, improper lane change, expired registration, lanes of travel, driving under suspension, failure to maintain lane, marked lanes, equipment, improper display, and lights required.

21 Sept 2023 two 911 hang up calls were received.

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 21 Sept 2023:

Victor Branham Whittekind, age 35, Marietta, OH, failure to comply, a felony.

Justin Allan Jones, age 36, Marietta, OH, trafficking in a fentanyl related compound, possession of a fentanyl related compound, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, all felonies.

Joshua John Huffman, age 47, Middleport, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 23 women and 81 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
