13 Sept 2023 Sgt. Painter was on patrol on State Route 7, Warren Township when he observed a passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane.  The speed was checked and confirmed at 84 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.  The traffic stop was conducted with Erik J Koffel, 301 Vernon Street, Marietta, OH, as the driver.  A citation was issued for speed. 

13 Sept 2023 a welfare check was requested in Decatur Township. 

13 Sept 2023 a check was made of a male subject pushing something along the road in the early morning hours.  The subject had found a piece of furniture in the trash.  No problems.

13 Sept 2023 a littering complaint was determined to be a property line dispute.

13 Sept 2023 a suspicious vehicle was reported in Barlow Township.

13 Sept 2023 a loose dog complaint was reported in Marietta Township.  The dog was secured, subjects advised of animals at large charges.

13 Sept 2023 a welfare check on a dog was requested.  Dog found to be in good condition.

13 Sept 2023 an animal complaint was reported in Newport Township.

13 Sept 2023 an animal complaint was reported In Pioneer Township. Dog found to be in good condition.

13 Sept 2023 a report of stolen vehicle was reported from Belpre Township.  Subject advised to provide proof of ownership and return with the documents.

13 Sept 2023 a report was made of harassment.  No threats were made and subjects were advised of their civil options.

13 Sept 2023 Deputy Norris began an investigation into a stolen vehicle from Grandview Township.  Vehicle recovered on the same day.

13 Sept 2023 Sgt. Painter was on patrol on State Route 7, Warren Township when he observed a passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane.  The speed was checked and confirmed at 86 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.  The traffic stop was conducted with Sandra K Frazier, 100 Harris Street, Newport, OH as the driver.  A citation was issued for speed. 

13 Sept 2023 six 911 hang up calls were received.  

13 Sept 2023 deputies patrolled school zones, served/attempted numerous civil papers and warrants, as well as completed residence checks and/or extra patrol requests.

13 Sept 2023 deputies issued written and/or verbal warnings for the following traffic violations:  driving habits, turn signal, visible registration, improper display, cracked windshield and equipment.

Lucas Trey Haynes, age 27, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Eric Michael Michaud, age 31, Marietta, OH, 2 counts forgery, theft, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, all felonies.

Arick Dale Cottrill, age 56, Coolville, OH, menacing, a misdemeanor.

Casey Troy Carpenter, age 27, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Austin Isaac Dulaney, age 25, Reynoldsburg, OH, aggravated trafficking and aggravated possession of drugs, 2 counts each, all felonies.

Brian Dale Ray, age 50, Big Springs, WV, violate a protection order, a misdemeanor.

Penny Marie Banky, age 69, Parkersburg, WV, contempt of court, a felony.

There are currently 18 women and 87 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
