5 Sept 2023 extra patrol requests and residence checks were completed.

5 Sept 2023 school zones were patrolled before and after school.

5 Sept 2023 civil process paperwork and/or warrants were served or attempted to be served.

5 Sept 2023 a deputy checked a suspicious vehicle at a business after hours.  No criminal activity observed.

5 Sept 2023 a welfare check was requested on a subject in Marietta Township.  Her phone had been dead and she overslept.  No problems.

5 Sept 2023 a resident requested assistance regarding locks added to a storage building.  They were advised of their civil options.

5 Sept 2023 a welfare check was requested due to a subject possibly squatting with a resident.  Subjects were advised of their rights and the eviction process.

5 Sept 2023 a subject wanted it noted that he had a  BB hole in his vehicle window.

5 Sept 2023 a deputy spoke with a side by side rider on a county road.  The driver was advised of the laws for riding on the roadway.

5 Sept 2023 a welfare check was requested for subjects with children due to the living conditions.  No one was home when the residence was checked.

5 Sept 2023 a deputy responded to an alarm in Belpre Township.  This was found to be accidental.  No problems at the home.

5 Sept 2023 deputies checked a residence for three runaway juveniles from the state of Oklahoma.  The juveniles were located and per the responsible agency, left in the care of an adult in Washington County until arrangements can be made to return them home.

5 Sept 2023 a deputy responded to an alarm at a business in Barlow Township.  Buildings were secure.

5 Sept 2023 a welfare check was requested on a subject in Waterford Township.  Subjects were found to be okay.

5 Sept 2023 a Grandview Township resident had given permission to a subject to use their vehicle and the subject will not return their calls.  Attempts to contact the subject met with negative results.

5 Sept 2023 a report was made of a wife and husband in a verbal dispute.  When advised to separate until law enforcement could arrive, the call was ended.  On call back dispatch was advised nothing physical had occurred, only verbal.  A deputy confirmed this and the subjects were advised of disorderly charges if this behavior continued.

5 Sept 2023 a report was received of three subjects in a verbal dispute.  A deputy confirmed this was only verbal and advised the subjects of disorderly charges if this behavior continued.

5 Sept 2023 assistance was given to the Beverly Police Department on a call of subject(s) shooting.

5 Sept 2023 a report of domestic violence was made in Wesley Township.  A response to the area and meeting with the subjects confirmed nothing physical occurred.

5 Sept 2023 a Marietta Township resident reported knocking on her door after 10 p.m.  The area was checked, nothing observed out of the ordinary, no signs of any subjects.

5 Sept 2023 deputies assisted Athens County 911 with a subject who had made threats of harm. 

5 Sept 2023 five 911 hang up calls were received.

5 Sept 2023 the following written/verbal warnings were issued for traffic violations:  speed, marked lanes, equipment, no license, driving habits, expired registration, lights required and defective equipment.

5 Sept 2023 Sgt. Det. McKee began an investigation into a scam. 

6 Sept 2023 two 911 hang up calls were received.

6 Sept 2023 deputies responded to Fairfield Township to an alarm.  Alarm found to be accidental.

6 Sept 2023 school zone patrols were completed.

6 Sept 2023 a welfare check was completed on an individual who had not reported to work.  Everything was found to be fine.

6 Sept 2023 St. Mary’s PD requested assistance at a residence in Newport, Ohio.

6 Sept 2023 a report of a subject taking items from a resident that do not belong to them.  Subjects were advised in reference to disorderly conduct charges.  They are working through the court system to obtain the items.

6 Sept 2023 Belpre PD requested assistance with a subject who had made threats of harming himself. 

6 Sept 2023 a resident voluntarily surrendered two dogs. 

6 Sept 2023 a deputy transported a K9 from a residence to a veterinarian clinic.

6 Sept 2023 a deputy responded to a business where a camper side swiped a bus.  Information was exchanged between the two parties.  Minor damage.

6 Sept 2023 a report of junk vehicles sitting in the 200 block of Second Street, Salem Township.  A deputy checked this area, vehicles were towed.

6 Sept 2023 Deputy Gainer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Douglas Gene Snider, Jr., who was known to have an active warrant with WCSO. Snider, age 49, 212 Chapel Avenue, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest on the warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail.

6 Sept 2023 it was reported that a landlord had removed all the belongings of a tenant after they advised they would be moving.  The subjects are paid up until November, and were advised of their options.

6 Sept 2023 a deputy responded to HSOV to place a dog, that had been dropped off, inside the building.

6 Sept 2023 Sgt. Stillson conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of State Route 7 and Sandhill Road, Marietta Township, at approximately 2027 hours.  The vehicle was observed committing traffic violations.  The driver, Parrish D. Gulley,  was found to have an active arrest warrant from the State of West Virginia. The warrant was confirmed and Sgt. Stillson identified Parrish by his DOB, SSN, OH operator’s license, and the physical description which matched the warrant.  Parrish Dumorea Gulley, age 39, 30465 State Route 7, Marietta, OH, was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice.  Gulley was transported to the Washington County Jail.

6 Sept 2023 deputies assisted the Fearing Vol. Fire Department obtaining medical assistance for an individual. 

6 Sept 2023 a deputy stood by while a subject was able to have a tire fixed on a vehicle.

6 Sept 2023 a Jason Doyle turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. 

6 Sept 2023 deputies issued written/verbal warning on the following traffic offenses: equipment, lanes of travel, no trailer license, no lights, defective equipment, speed and driving habits.

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 6 Sept:

Douglas Gene Snider Jr., age 39, Marietta, OH, theft, a felony.

Parrish Dumorea Gulley, age 39, Marietta, OH, fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor.

Jason Allen Doyle, age 33, Whipple, OH, speed, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 21 women and 93 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
