24 Aug 2023 four 911 hang up calls were received.  Two were transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agency.  All other calls were confirmed as accidental.  

24 Aug 2023 deputies conducted numerous residence checks and extra patrol requests.  Deputies also attempted/served civil processes and warrants.   

24 Aug 2023 the following verbal/written warnings were issued to traffic violations:   failure to maintain control, speed, equipment, rear running lights, improper display, traffic control device, lanes of travel, and following too close.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Dunham Township to an alarm.  No entry made, building secure.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Marietta Township to an alarm.  No entry made, building secure.  

24 Aug 2023 deputies placed Bruce Ferguson Jr under arrest on his warrant.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to a loose dog complaint in Adams Township.  Deputy was unable to catch the dog.   

24 Aug 2023 Deputy Schwendeman responded to Marietta Township to a report of a Kubota tractor with a front loader being stolen from the property.  This case is under investigation.  

24 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Barlow Township to a report of an older male walking on the roadway with a rifle.  Contact was made with the male and a ride was given to his destination.  The man was carrying a walking stick.   

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Dunham Township to a report of a hit skip at a business during the end of July.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Marietta Township to a report of a disabled vehicle in a business parking lot.  The Ohio State Patrol assisted the business.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Marietta Township to conduct a welfare check on a student that was absent.  Everything was found to be okay.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy stopped in Pioneer Township for a disabled vehicle in the roadway.  The vehicle was able to get started and on its way.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Warren Township to a report of subjects filing several credit card applications. Subject was not out any money.  

24 Aug 2023 Deputy Gainer met with an individual reporting Brian Dale Ray violating a no contact order at Belpre Township.  The Personal Safety Order issued out of The Magistrate Court of Wood County was in effect until August 23, 2024.  Attempts to contact Ray met with negative results.  A warrant was requested and issued for the arrest of Brian Dale Ray, 2721 28^th Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, through Marietta Municipal Court, for violating a protection order.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Adams Township to a report of domestic violence.  This was found to be a verbal argument only, no acts of violence.  

24 Aug 2023 deputies met with an individual walking on State Route 7, Warren Township.  Subject was given a ride.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Warren Township to a report of a scam through Facebook to purchase a dog.  The caller did not want to make a report.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Pioneer Township to a loose dog at Seventh Street.  The dog was gone on arrival.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Belpre Township to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Dunham Township to pick up a stray dog and transport it to the Humane Society.  

24 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Waterford Township and arrested Danelle Lee Lamp, on an active warrant.  

24 Aug 2023 Sgt. Stillson, while investigating an anonymous tip, observed David Wolfert pass by me on East Branch Road.  Sgt. Stillson turned around and was able to catch up to Wolfert at the intersection of State Route 60 and Lowell Hill Road, Adams Township.  The patrol car flashing emergency lights and audible siren were activated to signal Wolfert to pull over.  The motorcycle revving loudly could be heard by Sgt. Stillson, and he observed the motorcycle to begin pulling away from him.  A vehicle pursuit began and Sgt. Stillson was able to catch up to Wolfert, where he was able to observe the registration of his motorcycle to be expired.  The patrol vehicle PA speaker was utilized to advise Wolfert that Sgt. Stillson knew who he was and that he was under arrest. Within a few hundred feet Wolfert threw his hands up and then stopped. Wolfert was taken into custody and when asked why he ran, he stated he just wanted to feed his family.  David Irvin Wolfert, age 44, Lowell, OH, was arrested and charged with failure to comply, expired plates and driving under suspension.  Wolfert was transported to the Washington County Jail.  

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Barlow Township to an alarm at a business.  Building was secured.   

24 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Warren Township to a report of dogs whining for hours.  No problems upon arrival.    

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 24 Aug 2023:  

Bruce Allen Ferguson, age 38, Marietta, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, two counts, felonies.  

Nicole Marie Chumita, age 31, Wickliffe, OH, possession of fentanyl and aggravated possession of drugs, both felonies.  

John Douglas Pugh, age 43, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.  

David Irvin Wolfert, age 44, Lowell, OH, failure to comply, expired plates and driving under suspension, all misdemeanors.  

Danelle Lee Lamp, age 29, Beverly, OH, disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.  

There are currently 24 women and 82 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
