22 Aug 2023 Deputy Tullius responded to Marietta College to a loose dog complaint.  Marietta College PD was contacted and the dog, registered to Jeremiah Earl Rutter, was picked up and taken to the Humane Society.  This same dog has been picked up three times this year.  A summons is being requested for Rutter, age 27, 6500 Germantown Road, Lower Salem, OH, on a charge of failure to restrain.   

23 Aug 2023 seven 911 hang up calls were received.  Two were transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agency.  All other calls were confirmed as accidental.  

23 Aug 2023 deputies conducted numerous residence checks and extra patrol requests.  Deputies also attempted/served civil processes and warrants.   

23 Aug 2023 the following verbal/written warnings were issued to traffic violations:   no registration visible, no operator’s license or expired operator’s license, lanes of travel, left of center, driving habits, speed, and defective equipment.  

23 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Dunham Township to a false alarm.  Subjects are getting this alarm worked on.  

23 Aug 2023 deputies arrested Philip Motley on an active warrant.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Grandview Township to a welfare check of dogs.  This is unfounded, dogs were in good condition.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Newport Township to check a possible disabled vehicle.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Belpre Township to a report of a bus broken down.  The school bus, from out of county, was being worked on.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Pioneer Township to remove a cat.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to the Washington County Jail where a Brooklyn Wyatt turned herself in on a warrant.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded along with the Beverly Waterford VFD Squad to a subject injured and needing medical attention.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Waterford Township to check on dogs.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Marietta Township to a report of juveniles bothering a resident.  Juveniles were met with and sent on their way.  

23 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Newport Township to an alarm.  Buildings were secured, possibly caused by the wind.

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 23 Aug 2023:  

Philip Allen Motley, age 37, Vincent, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.  

Kristin Nicole Dutcher, age 40, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.  

Brooklyn Rachell Wyatt, age 28, Belpre, OH, breaking and entering, desecration  – place of worship, both felonies, and criminal damaging a misdemeanor.  

There are currently 24 women and 81 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
