20 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Belpre Township to a subject reporting another subject took their items refusing to return them.  Subjects were advised of their rights, and advised reference to disorderly conduct charges should they continue this behavior.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Marietta Township to a report of suspicious subjects looking around the property with flashlights.  The subjects were gone upon arrival.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy assisted an individual with a partial solution for harassing messages, etc.   20 Aug 2023 deputies assisted the Marietta PD on Front Street, Pioneer Township.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Muskingum Township to an alarm.  Building was found to be secure.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Barlow Township to conduct a welfare check.  Assistance was given.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Marietta Township to a report of possible disorderly conduct.   Assistance was given to the subjects.  

20 Aug 2023 Deputy Schwendeman was dispatched to Marietta Township to a report of a stray dog attacking and injuring a calf at the property.     

20 Aug 2023 Deputy Schwendeman was dispatched to New Matamoras, OH, to a theft of a gas can.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Lawrence Township to a call about cows in the roadway.  Owners were trying to round the cows up as well.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Wesley Township to loose dogs that had been restrained, to be transported to the Humane Society.  The dogs escaped before deputies arrived.  Deputies responded later to obtain the dogs and transported them to the Humane Society.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy patrolled Barlow Township for the Ohio State Patrol, negative locate.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies conducted a traffic stop with subjects found to have active warrants from Summit County.  Summit County requested no arrest, due to their manpower.  A verbal warning on suspended license was given.

20 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a Newport resident reference stolen money from a vehicle.  No report was wanted at this time.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies met with subjects in Warren Township in reference to property exchange.  

20 Aug 2023 Lt. Brown and Deputy Gainer were dispatched to Warren Township to an investigation into ongoing domestic issues with  Nathan Sayger.  It was reported that Sayger was involved in a mutual wrestling match over a telephone the previous date.  Also noted was that Sayger has been involved in several physical altercations over the past and on May 16 was involved in strangling the victim with both hands.  Contact was made over public service with Sayger, who initially refused to meet with deputies.  Sayger later turned himself in at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.  Sayger confirmed the altercation from this date, stating the victim attacked him.  Sayger stated he was familiar with the May 16 incident, however denied ever trying to cause the individual physical harm or attempting to strangle them.  Nathan Adam Sayger, age 32, 1823 Bender Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with strangulation and domestic violence.  Sayger was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.  

20 Aug 2023 Lt. Brown completed a private property accident report involving Tyler A  Bills.  This occurred at 17786 State Route 676 where the vehicle was parked and got out of gear, striking a tree.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Warren Township along with the Warren VFD squad in reference to an assault.  No assault could be confirmed.  

20-21 Aug 2023 deputies completed residence checks, extra patrol requests and attempted/served civil papers.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Muskingum Township to a report of a subject asked to leave the premises and was then harassing the individual.  The subject left before law enforcement arrived.  

20 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Wesley Township to a male subject becoming violent.  Everything was okay, the subject calmed down and was counseled.  

20 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Salem Township to a report of domestic violence.  No acts of violence occurred, or threats.  

20-21 Aug 2023 four 911 hang up calls were received. The Ohio State Patrol was advised of one on the interstate needing assistance, one was in WV and the others were confirmed accidental.

21 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Belpre Township to a report of harassment.  Subjects were met with and trespassed from the business property.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy assisted the Ohio State Patrol on a traffic stop.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy advised a Warren Township resident of their options regarding harassment through social media.  

21 Aug 2023 deputies and the Little Hocking VFD Squad responded to a deceased individual in Belpre Township.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy checked on a disabled vehicle in Warren Township.  The vehicle was off the roadway.   

21 Aug 2023 Deputy Windland responded to 17786 State Route 676 to the Saint John Baptist Catholic Church, Watertown Township to a report of a break-in and damage inside the church.  Video footage revealed Tyler Bills and Chelsey Bills on the property of the church.  Deputy Windland met with Chelsea and Tyler and they admitted to going inside the church. At the time the Bills were inside the church, their 6 year old son can be seen entering the vehicle (unattended) shortly before the vehicle started moving and struck a tree.  The child can be seen running from the vehicle after the vehicle struck the tree.  Also found to be present inside the church was Desiree Dawn Lewis.  Lewis admitted to being in the church as well once Deputy Windland spoke with her.  Desiree Dawn Lewis, age 24, 7855 East Street, Adamsville, OH,  was placed under arrest and charged with breaking and entering.  Tyler Austin Bills, age 28, Marietta, OH, and Chelsey Danielle Bills, age 32, 218 Wyoming Road, Marietta, OH, were both placed under arrest and charged with breaking and entering and endangering children.  All subjects were transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a Marietta Township resident reference harassment.   

21 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a subject in reference to a storage unit owner in Marietta Township placing a lock on their unit.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to an alarm in Marietta Township.  Everything was found to be okay.                                      

21 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Pioneer Township to conduct a welfare check on an animal.  

21 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Adams Township to stand by at a property/residence while a check was made for a water leak.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Newport Township to a complaint on a loose dog.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a subject in Warren Township in reference to harassment.  The subject was advised of their options.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy met with an Adams Township resident in reference to dumping/littering around the dam.  Subject was contacted and warned about littering, and advised to clean the area up.  

21 Aug 2023 a deputy checked a vehicle parked at a business.  Driver was waiting on a subject to get off work.   

21 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Belpre Township to meet with subjects regarding an attempted theft.

Bernard Alexander Cline, Jr., age 63, Belpre, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.  

Desiree Dawn Lewis, age 24, Williamstown, WV, breaking and entering, a felony.  

Tyler Austin Bills, age 28, Marietta, OH, breaking and entering, a felony, and endangering children, a misdemeanor.  

Chelsey Danielle Bills, age 32, Marietta, OH, breaking and entering, a felony, and endangering children, a misdemeanor.  

Cody Montell Knotts, age 32, Whipple, OH, probation violation, 2 counts, both felonies.  

Buddy Allen Miller, age 49, Marietta, OH, receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.  

Brennan Michael Holshu, age 35, Belpre, OH, aggravated trafficking in drugs and corrupting another with drugs, both felonies.  

Jennifer Renee Waybright, age 49, homeless, probation violation, a felony.  

Brianna Lee Messick, age 26, Marietta, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.  

Ernest Wade Boley, age 44, Marietta, OH, theft without consent and contempt of court, both misdemeanors.  

Sylvia Lorraine Casto, age 54, Parkersburg, WV, trafficking in fentanyl, aggravated trafficking in drugs, possession of fentanyl, aggravated trafficking in drugs, and possession of criminal tools, all felonies.  

Michael Jay Bond, age 36, homeless, contempt of court, a felony.  

Damon Anthony Brown, age 31, theft by deception and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors.  

There are currently 24 women and 91 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
