15 Aug 2023 a deputy conducted a welfare check on a subject requesting a tow truck after contact was lost with the company.  Everything turned out okay.  

15 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Muskingum Township to an alarm.  Found to be an employee error.  

15 Aug 2023 a deputy stopped at a disabled vehicle in Warren Township.  Subject was able to get the vehicle going again.

15 Aug 2023 a deputy checked a vehicle in Muskingum Township on I77 stopped along the roadway.  Everything was found to be okay  

15 Aug 2023 a deputy responded to Belpre Township to a report of a subject making threats over public service.  Subject advised this did not happen.  No further follow up.  

15 Aug 2023 a wanted subject turned herself in at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant. Transport to the Washington County Jail was completed.  

15 Aug 2023 deputies attempted service on numerous civil papers throughout the day and night.  

15 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a resident in reference to medication being delivered to a West Virginia address.  

15 Aug 2023 a deputy met with a Barlow Township resident in reference to cattle destroying crops.  Both subjects were met with reference civil action and possible charges in the future for animals at large.   

15 Aug 2023 deputies responded to Marietta Township to a report of domestic violence.  Officers determined no domestic violence occurred, subjects were warned in reference disorderly conduct charges.  

15 Aug 2023 a deputy was patrolling Pike Street, Pioneer Township when he observed an orange 4 door sedan without a license plate light. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle bearing WV registration. Contact was made with the driver and passenger.  The passenger, Charles Ray Mackey, was found to have an active warrant out of the City of Belpre, OH.  A search of Mackey revealed 10.59 grams of  suspected fentanyl on his person.  Charles Ray Mackey, age 41, 2106 ½ 12^th Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest on the warrant and for possession of fentanyl.   

15 Aug 2023 Written/verbal warnings were issued through the day/night for improper lane change, traffic control devices, expired registration, following too close, marked lanes, and equipment violations.  

15 Aug 2023 deputies conducted residence checks, extra patrol requests along with attempting active warrants throughout the day and night.  

The following individual(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 15 Aug 2023:  

Derek Eugene Petry, age 43, Macksburg, OH, parole violation, a felony.  

Charles Ray Mackey, age 41, Parkersburg, WV, possession of drugs, a felony, no operator’s license and traffic device violation, both misdemeanors.  

There are currently 20 women and 85 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
