Deputies conducted numerous traffic stops resulting in the following written or verbal warning: Pioneer Township: 2 driving habits, driving on closed roadway, turn signal; Marietta Township: speed; Muskingum Township: speed in a construction zone
A deputy conducted a welfare check in Barlow Township where a vehicle was parked along the roadway. No criminal activity.
A deputy conducted a business security check in Waterford Township. Building was found to be secured.
A deputy checked on a vehicle parked in Muskingum Township. No criminal activity, advised to move along.
A 911 hang up call was received from Dunham Township. Follow up confirmed this was accidental.
A 911 hang up call was received from Parkersburg, WV. Follow up conducted and Wood County advised.
A 911 hang up call was received from Muskingum. Follow up confirmed this was accidental.
A deputy responded to Belpre Township to a business alarm. Building(s) were found to be secured, the alarm was false.
A 911 hang up call was received from the Vienna, WV, area. Wood County was advised.
A deputy assisted at the scene of an accident with injury in Wesley Township. Ohio State Patrol, Barlow Fire Department and Wesley Fire Department were on scene.

Deputies responded to Newport Township to a report of damage to a vehicle. The parties involved will be handling this between themselves.

A deputy responded to Warren Township in reference to text messages between multiple subjects. All parties were advised to end all conversations.
Deputies conducted numerous residence checks and extra patrols in Washington County.
Sgt. Parks along with other deputies were dispatched to Adams Township, to attempt service on an active warrant for David Irvin Wolfert. Wolfert’s ruck was identified at the residence, as well as Wolfert standing in the yard. Wolfert began to walk away from deputies, and when his name was called he advised he did not know who “David” was. Wolfert walked to a white pickup truck parked in the driveway, to the driver’s side wheel well, stopped, faced the truck, and bent over. Wolfert then walked to the front of the truck, and met with deputies. Deputies checked the area where Wolfert had stopped, finding a clear sandwich bag with a crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine. The bag and contents were later found to weigh 19.32 grams. David Irvin Wolfert age 44, 765 Schau Road, Lowell, OH, was arrested for tampering with evidence and possession of drugs. Wolfert was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. Wolfert was also served the active warrant(s).

Deputies conducted numerous traffic stops resulting in the following written or verbal warning: Blennerhassett Township: communication device, failure to maintain lane of travel; Pioneer Township: speed, 2 marked lanes; Muskingum Township: 2 speed.
A deputy assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Pioneer Township.
A deputy assisted the Marietta Police Department in Pioneer Township.
Deputies conducted numerous residence checks and extra patrols in Washington County.
Deputies conducted numerous warrant attempts in Washington County.
A deputy responded to Waterford Township to a report of a stolen chainsaw. The victim will get more information and contact the deputy at a later time.
A deputy stood by in Pioneer Township while a subject was able to get his disabled vehicle back on the roadway.
A deputy responded to assist with an exchange of a child.
A 911 hang up call was received from Pioneer Township. The call was transferred to Marietta PD.

Deputies responded to Waterford Township to a report of a dog killing a cat. The information was forwarded to the dog warden.
A 911 hang up call was received from Belpre Township. The call returned and deputies determined this to be accidental.
A deputy responded to Warren Township to a trespassing complaint. This incident was found to be civil in nature.
Deputies responded to Warren Township to a report of two aggressive dogs running towards individual(s). Deputies patrolled the area for the animals which were not located.
A 911 hang up call was received. No information was available to check the caller. Deputies responded to Warren Township in reference to a dispute. Subjects were advised of their options.
A 911 hang up call was received from a Marietta business. The call was transferred to Marietta PD.
A 911 hang up call was received from a young child not liking what the parents had told them to do. Contact was made and the child was advised of the proper use of 911. No emergency was noted.
A 911 hang up call was received from Decatur Township. After checking the residence this was found to be weather related.
Deputy Harlow responded to Barlow Township to a report of a missing juvenile. After a search of the immediate area the juvenile was located. Medical attention was provided to the juvenile.
The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail 31 Jul 2023 to 1 Aug 2023 : James Fredrick Obrien, II, age 45, Vincent, OH, probation violation, a felony.
Steven Paul Hendershot, age 65, Newport, OH, attempted burglary and having weapons while under disability, both felonies, and inducing panic, a misdemeanor.
Robert Dale Dalrymple, age 46, Sardis, OH, contempt of court and theft of a motor vehicle, both felonies.
Brent Russell Stottlemire, age 25, New Matamoras, OH, 2 count probation violation, both misdemeanors.
Derek Scott Barnhart, age 32, St. Mary’s, WV, obstructing official business.
There are currently 23 women and 95 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
