Traffic stops which resulted in warnings were conducted as follows: Barlow Township:  equipment. Warren Township: improper display. Pioneer Township: tail lights displayed, marked lanes, turn signals, stop bar, improper display and stop bar. Belpre Township:  move over for law enforcement, speed, lane usage.  Wesley Township:  improper display. Marietta Township: equipment. Dunham Township: speed, equipment, speed. 

Deputy Eichhorn responded to Belpre Township to a 911 hang up.  The call was confirmed as accidental. 

Deputy Eichhorn responded to Wesley Township to a report of threats being made.  The subjects will be obtaining a restraining order. 

Deputy Wallace and Sgt. Stillson assisted the Beverly Police Department with a reported fight. 

Deputy Stillson was conducting a welfare check in Waterford Township.  Everything was found to be okay. 

Lt.. Johnson conducted a check on a suspicious vehicle in Newport Township.  No criminal activity was observed. 

Lt. Brown and Deputy Wallace responded to Waterford Township to a report of a subject being heard screaming outside.  No subjects were located after a lengthy patrol of the area.

Traffic stops which resulted in warnings were conducted as follows:  Muskingum Township: Verbal driving habits.  Waterford Township:  speed. Pioneer Township:  driving habits 

A 911 hang-up call was received coming from the area of Dupont.  Wood County, WV, was advised. 

Deputies responded to Marietta Township to check the welfare of a subject.  The individual agreed to seek assistance on his/her own. 

Deputy Windland conducted a funeral escort in Salem Township. 

A 911 hang-up call was received from the area of Warren Township.  The call was confirmed to be accidental. 

Deputy Tullius responded to Barlow Township to check on horses.  They were found to be receiving proper care. 

A 911 hang-up call was received from the area of Belpre Township.  Follow up was conducted.  

Deputies responded to Marietta Township to a report of a subject being pushed.  No criminal activity was observed. 

Deputies responded to Adams Township to a report of subjects speeding on the roadway.  No subjects were located after patrolling the area. 

Deputy Davis assisted the Belpre Police Department on an investigation. 

Deputies responded to a call in reference to a drone flying low over residences.  

A 911 hang-up call was received from the area of Warren Township.  Follow up was conducted.  

A 911 hang-up call was received from the area of Belpre Township.  Contact was made and confirmed accidental.  

Deputies responded to Marietta Township to a report of subjects yelling and screaming.  No criminal activity was observed. 

Deputies responded to Adams Township to a report of a vehicle parked in the roadway.  Vehicle gone upon arrival. 

Deputies responded to Dunham Township to an alarm.  The alarm was found to be a false alarm.  

A 911 hang up call from Muskingum Township was followed up on and found to be accidental. 

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail  26 Jul 2023: 

Tonda Kay Montgomery, age 30, Parkersburg, WV, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. 

Christopher Cullen Cooper, age 32, homeless, fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor. 

Christopher William Hicks, age 28, Ravenswood, WV,  fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor. 

Sherry Regenia Waybright, age 37, Portsmouth, OH,  breach of recognizance, possession of drugs, and possession of heroin, all felonies. 

Rebeca Jean Smith, age 51, Pomeroy, OH, possession of drugs, a felony. 

There are currently 23 women and 87 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
