13 Jul 2023 Deputy Eichhorn was advised that Wood County authorities were in pursuit of a beige Nissan Altima, OH registration, north-bound on I77 headed toward Washington County, Ohio.  Deputy Eichhorn set stationary at the I77 bridge while an Ohio State Highway Patrol officer utilized stop sticks on the suspect vehicle which appeared to strike the suspect vehicle’s tires.  Deputy Eichhorn followed behind Parkersburg Police and a Wood County Sheriff’s Department in an attempt to catch up to the suspect vehicle.  At the 1 mile marker of I77 the driver crossed the median traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of travel. The driver then crashed into the guardrail, coming to a stop. At this time Joshua Williams was identified as the driver of the vehicle and taken into custody.  Joshua Shawn Williams, age 38, 1020 Swann Street, Apt. 2, Parkersburg, WV, was charged with failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer.  Williams was transported to the Washington County Jail.   

13 Jul 2023 Deputy Wallace was dispatched to Jett Hill Road, Newport Township, to a report of Warren Harmon being out of control at the residence.   Harmon was reported to have been consuming alcoholic beverage(s) and firing a pistol, then pointing the firearm at an individual before leaving the area.  While deputies were on scene Harmon returned to the residence. Harmon was taken into custody without incident and was assisted to the patrol vehicle due to him being unsteady on his feet.  Harmon’s speech was slow and slurred.  Harmon admitted to drinking and shooting the pistol into the hill, stating he had not pointed it at anyone.  Harmon was transported to the Marietta City Police Department for a BAC test, with the results being .0116.  Warren Andrew Harmon, age 58, 360 Jett Hill Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, domestic violence, and using weapons while intoxicated.  

14 Jul 2023 Deputy Windland along with the Newport Volunteer Fire Department responded to Newport Township to a report of a deceased individual.  

14 Jul 2023 Deputy Windland responded to Belpre Township, to a report of Marie Pino removing and consuming medication from an individual.  While speaking with Pino she admitted to taking the medication while the homeowner was sleeping and confirmed she did not have permission to take the medication. Marie T. Pino, age 68, 2406 15th Avenue, Vienna, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with theft.  Pino was transported to the Washington County Jail.  

14 Jul 2023 jail staff became aware of an active warrant for Joshua Shawn Williams, age 38, 1020 Swann Street, Apt. 2, Parkersburg, WV, out of Wood County, WV, Magistrate Court.  The warrant was for fleeing from an officer.  Information was checked with information provided by Williams upon being processed into the Washington County Jail finding him to be the wanted subject.  A charge of fugitive from justice was filed on Williams.   

15 Jul 2023 Deputy Tucker was dispatched to an alarm at a business on Starlite Drive, Marietta Township where a broken window was discovered.  

15 Jul 2023 Deputy Norris was dispatched to the intersection of Pleasants Ridge Road and State Route 26 in regards to an ATV accident.  Reno Squad had transported the subject before Deputy Norris arrived.   A private property accident report was completed.  

16 Jul 2023 Sgt. Parks assisted the Marietta City Police Department on Front Street.     

16 Jul 2023 at 2247 hours Deputy Young was dispatched to B.F. Goodrich Road, Muskingum Township, for a private property crash involving a vehicle on the train tracks. OSP Troopers were on scene at the time.   A local towing company was called to the scene for a tow by individual(s) and contacted OSP due to the fact they believed the driver was intoxicated. Ashley Marie Pollard, was seated in an OSP patrol vehicle, with an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her person.  Pollard stated she had been drinking alcohol prior to driving and crashing.  HGN and SFSTs were performed poorly by Pollard.  Pollard was transported to Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 84 where she submitted to a breath test, with the results being 0.152. Pollard was released with a summons to appear in Marietta Municipal Court.    

18 Jul 2023 Deputy Windland and Deputy Thornberry were dispatched to Greenhill Road, Warren Township, to a report of a storage trailer being entered and items thrown all over the ground.   

18 Jul 2023 Deputy Wallace began an investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred in Watertown Township.  It was reported that Zachary J. Wynn had grabbed the individual and held a knife on them.  Contact was made with Wynn, age 46, 704 Cisler Drive, Marietta, OH, where he was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and kidnapping.  

20 Jul 2023 Deputy Tucker was on patrol on I77 southbound, near the one mile marker, Pioneer Township.  A Nissan vehicle with expired FL registration was observed and a traffic stop conducted.  The driver identified as Ian Gonzalez, was also driving under license suspension. Gonzalez, 509 Foster Lane, Apt. A, Marietta, OH, was issued a citation for driving under suspension.    

21 Jul 2023 Deputy Ullom conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota vehicle displaying WV registration, in Belpre Township, Tower Road.  The vehicle drove to the Par Mar parking lot, however continued through the lot and back onto US 50.  The driver continued to flee, while committing several traffic violations.  Spike sticks were utilized by Belpre PD near Farson Street, Belpre, where the vehicle came to a stop shortly after.  The driver was found to be Maurice Burton, age 38, 1311 Oak Street, Parkersburg, WV. Active warrants for Burton were found out of Athens County and Columbus, OH.  Burton stated he fled due to the active warrants.  Burton was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with failure to comply and obstructing justice.   

21 Jul 2023 deputies along with the Reno  Squad responded to Caywood Road, Marietta Township, to conduct a welfare check on a subject, later confirmed deceased.  

There are currently 23 women and 89 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
