National Police Week Awards Banquet

In observance of National Police Week the Washington County Sheriff’s Office held their annual awards banquet where employees and fellow law enforcement officers are recognized and honored for achievements or actions in the line of duty.
Employees were recognized for their years of service:
- 35 years: Chief Mark Warden, Lt. Lori Greathouse
- 25 years: Lt. Pat Gherke
- 15 years: Capt. Bryan Lockhart, Sgt. Jeremiah McConnell
- 10 years: Lt. Eric Hunter, Sgt. Eric Augenstein, Deputy Logan Schwendeman, SRO Deputy Matt Martin,
- 5 years: C/O Lt. Dustin Timberman, C/O Acting Sgt. Rebekah Greathouse, Deputy Trent Gainer, Deputy Tonya Tullius, Dispatcher Jessica Brown and Doug Weber
The following employees were named Employee of the Year in their respective divisions:
- Sgt. Duane Painter, Criminal Division (also received Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Year and Deputy of the Year)
- Deputy Jim Malone, Civil Division
- Acting Sgt. David Braise, Corrections Officer
- Stacy Holbrooks, Dispatch
- Sgt. Robert McKee, Detective
These officers were given the Sheriff’s Commendation Awards:
- Deputy Jacob Davis
- Sgt. Duane Painter
- Detective Alyssa Dolly
- Detective Zach Kehl
- Detective Lt. Scott Smeeks
- Fire Marshall Mike Stellfox
Sheriff’s Awards were issued to Rob Grant and Philip Schafer of the Washington County Grant Department, and also to all Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputies.
There were many Certificates of Appreciation and other awards given to employees for going above and beyond, your commitment to the Sheriff’s Office is greatly appreciated!
Congratulations and well wishes to Linda Moore on her retirement from the Sheriff’s Office after 24 years. Thank you for your service.
Happy first birthday to Support K-9s Axel and Wednesday!! Both K-9s were sworn in as officers of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and promised to uphold their duties.

On Wednesday 24 May 2023 Sheriff Mincks and Major Rhodes presented Rob Grant and Phillip Schaffer of the WC Grant’s Department with the Sheriff’s Award for their outstanding work in securing grants for Washington County. Thank you again Phillip and Rob for all you do for Washington County.
