On 19 Apr 2023 Deputy Tullius responded to Barlow Township in reference to a subject hanging around at a business. A check was done on the subject, Jacob Douglas Elliott, age 30, listing his address as homeless. An active warrant was located out of Monongalia County and Elliott was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. A charge of being a fugitive from justice was filed on Elliott by Deputy Gainer.
On 19 Apr 2023 Deputy Gainer and Sgt. Stillson responded to Dunham Township at the request of the Wood County Sheriff’s office in reference to a stolen camper that may be at this location.
On 20 Apr 2023 Sgt. McConnell and Deputy Ullom responded to Family Ford, Marietta Township, in reference to damage to vehicles parked on the lot and thefts from these vehicles to include tools.
On 20 Apr 2023 Deputy Eichhorn responded to a domestic dispute in progress in Marietta Township. Deputy Eichhorn was able to hear Brittieny J Barcus screaming before he got to the door of the residence. The victim of the violence stated that Barcus was intoxicated and became irate, getting in her face, acting like she was going to strike her. Deputy Eichhorn placed Brittieny J. Barcus, age 35, 27400 State Route 7, Lot 72, Marietta, under arrest for two counts of domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
On 21 Apr 2023 Sgt. Stillson, while patrolling State Route 339, Dunham Township, observed a passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane. The speed was confirmed at 68 mph in a posted 45 mph. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, driven by Kiersten Marie Taylor. Taylor, 925 Hickman Road, Waterford, OH, was issued a citation for speed.
On 20 Apr 2023 Sgt. Stillson began an investigation in Muskingum Township regarding a river lot outbuilding being entered and kayaks stolen along with household items and tools.
On 21 Apr 2023, at approximately 1537 hours, Deputy Tucker responded to Muskingum River Road, Muskingum Township, to a report of buildings being broken into and property stolen. Deputy Tucker was shown the area where property was entered and items were missing. The items that were missing were valued at approximately $600. A video captured photographs of the subject, identified as Richard Anderson. Warrants were requested and issued through Marietta Municipal Court for the arrest of Richard Lloyd Eldon Anderson, Jr., 248 Greenbriar Road, Lucasville, OH, for theft and breaking and entering.
There are currently 20 women and 83 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
