On 15 Apr 2023 Deputy Gainer and other deputies responded to Belpre Township to conduct an investigation into an assault.
On 16 Apr 2023 Deputy Derkin began an investigation into a theft of approximately $100 from a home in Muskingum Township.
On 18 Apr 2023 while patrolling Belpre Township, Sgt. Parks observed a passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane. Speed of 76 mph in a posted 60 mph zone was confirmed by radar. A traffic stop was made on Michella J. Curry, 350 Townhall Lane, Belpre, OH, and she was issued a citation for speed.
On 18 Apr 2023 while patrolling Belpre Township, Sgt. Painter observed a passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane. Speed of 78 mph in a posted 60 mph zone was confirmed by radar. A traffic stop was made on Brittany R. Stutler, 2726 Glazier Road, Guysville, OH, and she was issued a citation for speed.
On 18 Apr 2023 at approximately 1853 hours Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 2736 Veto Road, Dunham Township, in reference to Justin Batten being in an altercation with a passing motorist. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was already on scene prior to Sgt. Parks arriving. John Batten advised deputies that Justin had been drinking since noon at the residence. Justin began to walk down the road after a female that left the residence. Justin had also jumped out into the roadway in front of a passing motorist, and flipped him off. John advised Justin began to assault the motorist, and he (John) attempted to stop the assault. The victim of the assault stated that Justin punched him multiple times in the face. Justin Fitzgerald Batten, age 35, 2736 Veto Road, Vincent, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with assault, domestic violence and resisting arrest. Justin submitted to a PBT offered by the jail staff with the result being .129 @ 2030 hours.
On 19 Apr 2023 Deputy Derkin conducted a private property accident report where a Fed Ex driving struck Brittany Wiley’s vehicle after delivering a package. Minimal damage was done to Wiley’s vehicle.

Justin Jerome McCarter, age 46, Parkersburg, WV, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Amanda Lynn Phillips, age 32, Parkersburg, WV, breach of recognizance and theft, 2 counts, all misdemeanors.
William Jay Lucas, age 50, Belleville, WV, assault, a misdemeanor.
Timothy Kelly Parsley, age 48, Lenore, WV, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a felony, possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Adam Dale Mason, age 39, Belpre, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
Michelle Edward Grayson, age 35, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a felony, no operator’s license and probation violation, both misdemeanors.
Brittieny Jean Barcus, age, Marietta, OH, domestic violence 2 counts, 1 misdemeanor and 1 felony.
There are currently 21 women and 80 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
