On 3 Apr 2023 Sgt. Painter was patrolling State Route 7, Dunham Township, when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane.  Radar confirmed the vehicle was travelling 82 mph in a 60 mph zone.  A traffic stop was conducted and a citation for speed was issued to Kyle D. Bailey, 33400 Bush Road, Long Bottom, OH.

On 3 Apr 2023 at approximately 2147 hours Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 312 Fifth Street, Adams Township, to a report of a male and female fighting. Amber Glidden stated that she was fighting with Ian Lockhart.  Glidden stated that they argued and Lockhart then left.  Glidden then went to the location where Lockhart was, at which time Lockhart pushed her down as she began to leave.  Lockhart agreed that the two were arguing, however stated he left and Glidden arrived and continued the argument.  Lockhart states the two were in a mutual shoving match.  A charge of disorderly conduct will be filed on Ian Kennedy Lockhart, age 24, and Amber Marie Glidden, age 25, 307 5^th Street, Lowell, OH, requesting a summons for disorderly conduct.

On 4 Apr 2023 Deputy Norris began an investigation where a subject had entered a vacant home in Marietta Township. 

On 6 Apr 2023 Deputy Schwendeman began an investigation into a private property accident in Newport Township.  Brandon Morgan, Norwich, OH, was operating a Kimble Recycling vehicle when he parked the truck, leaving it idling, and the vehicle jumped out of gear and struck a pole. 

On 7 Apr 2023 at approximately 0536 hours Lt. Hornbeck conducted a traffic stop on State Route 7, Belpre Township, due to the speed of the vehicle. Deputy Tucker assisted on the stop, finding the driver to be Kimberly Maxine Wilson.  When asked if she had anything to drink, Wilson stated “not since last night.”  Wilson had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about her person and her eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Wilson stated to Deputy Tucker that she was under the influence and there was no sense in doing any of the tests. The results of a portable test were .298.  Wilson was transported to Belpre PD where she tested .255 at 0709 hrs.  Wilson was issued a summons on a charge of OVI. 

On 7 Apr 2023 while patrolling the 25000 block of State Route 7, Marietta Township, Sgt. Painter observed a passenger car commit a traffic violation.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Donald E. Bartimus Jr., who had no driving privileges.  Bartimus, 2346 Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, OH, was issued a citation for driving under suspension.

On 8 Apr 2023 Deputy Windland responded to Dunham Township to a report of Christopher William Hicks entering the residence of Mindy Martin and assaulting a Ray Dailey at the home.  Hicks entered the residence while Dailey and Martin were asleep.  Martin woke due to a noise and was confronted by Hicks, who pushed Martin with enough force to knock her to the ground.  Hicks attacked Dailey, with Martin attempting to step between Dailey and Hicks.  Hick continued punching overtop of Martin at Dailey.

Martin did not invite Hicks into the home and he showed up there unannounced and unwelcomed.  Ray Dailey had visible injuries to his head and face.  Hicks fled the area before law enforcement arrived.  A warrant was requested and issued through Marietta Municipal Court for the arrest of Christopher William Hicks, age 28, 714 Orchard Drive, Ravenswood, WV, for assault, and aggravated burglary.  .
