On 19 Feb 2023 Deputy Thornberry responded to the Washington County Jail, Westview Avenue, in regards to an assault of a corrections officer by an inmate.  Evidence revealed Jessica Strode was taken out of her cell to be placed into a restraint chair due to her earlier actions. The Corrections Officer asked Strode what she had in her mouth, with Strode spitting in the officer’s face.  A charge of assault on an employee within a corrections facility was filed on Jessica Fawn Strode, age 38, 204 7^th Street, Beverly, OH. 

On 19 Feb 2023 Deputy Kehl and Lt. Hunter were dispatched to 1308 Williamson Avenue, Grandview Township, to a report of Jordan Stewart being outside the apartment yelling and beating on the apartment door.  Officers met with Stewart at his residence and asked what the issues were. Stewart stated he had to find out what his neighbor’s “beef” was.  Stewart confirmed he was outside yelling at his neighbor and confirmed he was arguing with the same person as last night, when Officers had to respond. Jordan R. Stewart, age 23, 1308 Williamson Avenue, Apt. 4D, New Matamoras, OH, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct. 

On 19 Feb 2023 while patrolling in the area of Muskingum Drive and Linwood Avenue, Pioneer Township, Deputy Eichhorn observed a red GMC pickup truck bearing OH registration commit a traffic violation.  A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle turned onto Pennsylvania Avenue, accelerating rapidly out of a turn and eventually pulled off the roadway coming to a stop on a pedestrian sidewalk. Contact was made with the driver, Jason Fleeman.  An odor of alcohol emitted from the vehicle.  Fleeman’s eyes appeared to be glassy and there were several open alcoholic containers on the floorboard of the vehicle. Fleeman was asked if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages this date and he stated roughly two beverages approximately two hours prior to this stop.  Fleeman was asked to complete field sobriety tests, which he did poorly on.  Jason Christopher Fleeman, age 43, 38350 Cats Creek Road, Macksburg, OH, was placed under arrest and transported for a BAC test.  Fleeman tested .0103 g/21OL. Fleeman was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, and turn signal violation.  Fleeman was processed into the Washington County Jail.

On 21 Feb 2023 Deputy Windland was dispatched to 2346 State Route 550, Par Mar, Wesley Township, to a report of Anthony Hill passing a counterfeit bill on 02/15/2023.  Deputy Windland was provided with the counterfeit bill which was immediately confirmed to be counterfeit due to the printing “This note is for motion picture purposes, it is not a legal tender” on the bill. Employees stated they knew it was Hill who passed it due to him being the only customer with a $100 bill.  Surveillance video revealed the subject who Deputy Windland was familiar with due to prior dealings with Hill.  Hill purchased 2 packs of cigarettes worth $18.22, and received $81.78 in change.  A warrant was requested and issued for Anthony Trent Hill, age 33, 1154 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, OH, through Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of theft and counterfeiting.

William Lee Murphy, age 28, Marietta, OH, OVI alcohol, drug of abuse or both, driving under OVI suspension, improper lane usage and resisting arrest.

Justin Allen Hall, age 40, Belpre, OH, rape, a felony.

Stephanie Marie Robinson, age 34, Marietta, OH, contempt of court, a misdemeanor, Licking County.

Matthew Allen Noland, age 43, St. Mary’s, WV, unlawful restraint and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.

Gregory Dale Butler, age 31, New Matamoras, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 19 women and 91 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
