On 5 Feb 2023 Deputy Tullius began an investigation into a dog bite incident in Newport Township.

On 7 Feb 2023 Deputy Davis was patrolling State Route 7 northbound when he observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on State Route 7.  A traffic stop was conducted and the speed confirmed at 70 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.  A check through dispatch confirmed the driver, Chelsea R. Durham, 32129 Welchtown Road, Pomeroy, OH, had a suspended license.  A citation was issued to Durham for driving under suspension.

On 7 Feb 2023 Deputy Tucker began an investigation into an accidental gunshot wound.

Kevin Andrew Williams, age 35, Marietta, OH, having weapons while under disability, aggravated possession of drugs, all felonies, possessing a defaced firearm, and criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors.

Gilberto NMN Marquina, age 51, Waterford, OH, OVI alcohol drug of abuse or both, driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs .08 of 1 gram or more, but less than .17 of 1 gram, no operator’s license, failure to control, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drugs, marijuana, all misdemeanors.

Thomas Eugene Murray, age 46, Belpre, OH, domestic violence, a felony.

Matthew Scott Labarre, age 20, Marietta, OH, disorderly conduct and prohibitions, alcohol under age 21, all misdemeanors.

Brian David Carr, age 51, Rutland, OH, failure to appear, (Meigs County), a felony.

There are currently 21 women and 94 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
