On 08 Jan 2023 deputies were dispatched to Wesley Township to a report of a domestic incident.  The suspect fled the area prior to law enforcement arriving at the residence.  It was reported that Dana N Harrison had been in an argument with the victim. The victim pushed Harrison away, while he was in her face yelling at her, with Harrison then striking her in the face.  Another individual at the home intervened between the two to get them to stop.  At that time Harrison struck the other subject as well.  A warrant was being requested for Dana N. Harrison, age, 13184 State Route 555, Cutler, OH, on 2 charges of domestic violence. 

On 9 Jan 2023 Sgt. Johnson was traveling south on State Route 339, Barlow Township, when he pulled behind a vehicle.  The occupant of the vehicle could be seen darting around in the vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Zachariah C. Butcher. Sgt. Johnson was advised that Butcher’s license had been suspended due to child support.  Butcher, 28471 Leading Creek Road, Middleport, was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license.  Butcher’s vehicle was also towed by a local towing company.  

On 11 Jan 2023 an investigation began at the Russell Standard Corporation, 5651 State Route 821, Fearing Township.  The investigation eventually revealed suspects involved in the theft and use of credit cards.  Those subjects were arrested and processed into the Washington County Jail.  Detectives began an analysis of the evidence and developed Kenneth E. Shinn as a suspect.  Video surveillance collected from numerous gas stations disclosed a male matching the description of Shinn.  On 20 Jan 2023 a search warrant was conducted at Shinn’s home in Morgan County.  Under Miranda Rights, Shinn advised he had bought a fuel card from Jacob Mozingo, and had used that card in Belpre, Ohio.  Kenneth Eugene Shinn, age 62, Stockport, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with misuse of credit cards, and receiving stolen property. 

On 11 Jan 2023 while sitting stationary at State Route 7 and Collins Road, Deputy Peters observed a passenger car traveling in the left lane with the right lane clear.  A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle driven by Robert Freeman.  A strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.  A search revealed 32 grams of marijuana.  Freeman, 4246 Verona Road, South Euclid, OH, was issued a citation for lanes of travel as well as a citation for possession of marijuana.

Terry Allen Chandler, age 36, Chesterhill, OH, probation violation, a felony, and contempt of court, a misdemeanor.

Carla Yvonne Clark, age 38, Stockport, OH, contempt of court, 2 counts, both misdemeanors.

Cody Daniel Venham, age 23, Little Hocking, OH, OVI, hit skip, left of center and no seatbelt, all misdemeanors.

Uriah NMN Gregg, age 25, Chesterhill, OH, possess marijuana, illegal use of possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, contempt of court and aggravated possession of drugs, both felonies.

Kenneth Eugene Shinn, age 62, Stockport, OH, misuse of credit card, a misdemeanor, receiving stolen property and probation violation, both felonies.

Richard Wesley Hawkins, age 52, Marietta, OH, possession of fentanyl and possession of drugs, both felonies.

Charles Clinton Carpenter, age 38, Marietta, OH, aggravated possession of drugs,  a felony, probation violation, obstructing official business, petty theft and receiving stolen property, all misdemeanors.

Corey Butler Adams, age 37, Chapmenville, WV, probation violation, a felony.

There are currently 14 women and 88 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
