On 15 Sept 2022 Deputy Reynolds began an investigation into a menacing incident in Barlow Township.

On 16 Sept 2022 Deputy Stillson began an investigation into a financial scam in Waterford Township.  The subject reported the scam was involving Publishers Clearing House. 

On 16 Sept 2022 Deputy Gainer responded to Greenhill Road in Warren Township, regarding a theft of medication.  Amanda Josephyne Wolfe, age 32, 707 Palmer Drive, Parkersburg, WV, was reported to have stolen medication prescribed to a juvenile. A warrant was requested for Wolfe on a charge of theft.

On 16 Sept 2022 Deputy Peters began an investigation on Joe Skinner Road, Dunham Township, regarding a theft of tools/yard equipment.

On 17 Sept 2022 a warrant was received from Ritchie County, WV, for Jason Lee Strickler.  Deputies responded to 765 Danas Run Road, Newport, in an attempt to locate Strickler.  Strickler was located and identified with the same social security number and date of birth as provided on the warrant from WV.  Strickler, age 43, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with being a fugitive from justice.  

On 17 Sept 2022 Lt. Hunter was dispatched to Rummer Road, Warren Township, to a report of a large black German Shepherd running loose in the neighborhood.  The dog was found to be somewhat aggressive towards Lt. Hunter.  Owner information was determined to be Regan N. Thompson, 530 Rummer Road, Marietta, OH, who was not at home.  A summons is being requested for Thompson, age 41, on a charge of failure to restrain her dog.

On 18 Sept 2022 Sgt. Brown responded to 34401 State Route 7, Newport Township where contact was made with Chelsea Curry.  Curry was found to have a warrant from the Magistrate Court of Pleasants County, WV, on charges of dangerous drugs. The date of birth and the social security number provided on the warrant was compared with information provided by Curry, finding her to be the wanted subject.  Chelsea Marie Curry, age 33, 34401 State Route 7, Newport, OH, was placed under arrest charged with being a fugitive from justice.

On 20 Sept 2022 Deputy Logan was advised by jail staff that an inmate had conveyed suspected drugs into the jail.  During the intake process jail staff asked Nicole Jane Dotson numerous times if she had contraband on her person, with her advising no several times.  Jail staff located 2 zip lock baggies with a clear crystalline substance contained within, as well as another with a rock substance and pill(s).  Dotson advised the items were methamphetamine and heroin, as well as Clonazepam and suboxone.  Dotson, age 36, 1200 Lockwood Street, Belpre, OH, was processed into jail on a charge of illegal conveyance into a correctional facility.

On 19 Sept 2022 Deputy Tullius began an investigation into a Yamaha Rhino side by side being stolen from Barlow Township.  The side by side was later recovered in Washington County.

On 21 Sept 2022 Deputy Peters began an investigation into a breaking and entering in Ludlow Township.  Items stolen include batteries, topper, motors, rotors, and other vehicle parts.

On 21 Sept 2022 Deputy Peters began an investigation into a stolen 53’ enclosed trailer from Aurelius Township. 

On 21 Sept 2022 Deputy Derkin began an investigation into animals at large in Pioneer Township.

On 21 Sept 2022 Deputy Gainer was dispatched to Everson Road, Dunham Township, to a report of a chainsaw and other tools missing from inside of a home and attached garage.  A Stihl chainsaw and hedge clippers were missing from the garage as well as a revolver missing from the residence.  During the investigation Casey S. Taylor was interviewed about his involvement.  Taylor eventually confessed to having gone into the residence and stealing the items.  All stolen items were recovered.  Taylor also admitted to defacing the firearm.  Casey Steven Taylor, age 31, 345 Everson Road, Belpre, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with burglary and defacing identification marks of a firearm.  Taylor was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 22 Sept 2022 Deputy Peters responded to 165 Starlite Drive, Marietta Township, to a report of someone entering a camper and stealing items.  Deputy Peters met the victim who had been sleeping and when he woke his items were missing.  A subject was observed on video, identified immediately as Billy Allen Babcock.  Babcock was located and admitted to going in the camper without permission and taking the phone and wallet which were found in his possession.  Billy Allen Babcock, age 46, 165 Killwell Run Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with burglary.  Babcock was transported to the Washington County Jail.
