Special News Release 23 Sept 2022


On 22 Sept 2022 following a joint investigation by Southeast Major Crimes Task Force, Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force, and the FBI, Ivan Burton was taken into custody on a federal arrest warrant for distribution of methamphetamine.  A traffic stop was initiated by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office where he was arrested.

While Burton was being taken into custody, agents with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force along with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 141 Franklin Street, Marietta, Ohio. Agents located roughly (9) nine ounces bags of drugs along with (9) nine firearms.   A total of 221.55 grams of meth and 34.63 grams of crack was seized.

Russell Allen McCabe and Christy Rochelle McCabe were both arrested and charged with two counts each of trafficking in drugs, all 1st degree felonies.  David Lee Golden and Cheyann Nichole Martinez were taken into custody on probation violations, both felonies.

Cheyann Nichole Martinez, age 34, 10440 Veto Rd, Belpre, OH, has been released from jail.

David Lee Golden, age 50, homeless, has been released from jail.

Russell Allen McCabe, age 55, 141 Franklin Street, Marietta, OH, is being held on $30,000 bond. 

Christy Rochelle McCabe, age 49, 141 Franklin Street, Marietta, OH, is being held on $15,000 bond.
