On 25 Jul 2022 Deputy Peters was stationary on the Ohio side of the Memorial Bridge observing traffic in the work zone.  A vehicle was observed not slowing for the light, continuing past the stop bar and onto the bridge.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Kayla R. Leonard, 671 Old Seven Road, Coolville, OH.   A citation for operating off street or highway in willful wanton disregard of the safety of persons or property was issued to Kayla R Leonard.

On 26 Jul 2022 Deputy Martin responded to Dollar General, 10282 State Route 550, Barlow Township, to a report of a theft.  It was reported that the subject in question had located a sales receipt and then gathered items similar to those on the receipt and then left the store. The subject returned shortly thereafter and returned the items for cash, receiving over $10.  The female again shopped in the store and left without paying for a bottle of shampoo.  The identity of the female was found to be Megan Nicole Pierce and contact was attempted at her residence however she was not home.  A warrant is being requested for Pierce, age 23, 1785 Moody Ridge Road, Vincent, OH  on a charge of theft. 

On 26 Jul 2022  Sgt. Stillson began an investigation in Belpre Township of a stolen Dodge Dart which had been parked at a business on State Route 7 after it had broken down. 

On 27 Jul 2022 Deputy Davis began an investigation in Warren Township where a vehicle was entered and items removed from inside. 

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 29 Jul 2022 to 30 Jul 2022:

John Edward Gavarkavich, age 46, Bellaire, OH, parole violation and possession of drugs, both felonies.

Christopher Ryan McGrath, age 37, Guysville, OH, contempt of court.

Daniel John Wolf, age 23, Vienna, WV, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony, OVI and failure to stop at stop bar, both misdemeanors.

Anthony James Curry, age 33, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a felony.

There are currently 20 women and 83 men being housed in the Washington County Jail.
