On 16 May 2022 Deputy Young began an investigation into an issue with a shoplifter at the Dollar General, Barlow Township.
On 17 May 2022 Deputy Dolly began an investigation into damage being done in Fairfield Township.
On 17 May 2022 deputies responded to 765 Danas Run Road, Newport Township, in reference to an anonymous tip regarding a female refusing to leave the residence. Deputies were advised that an assault had now taken place at the residence. Mary Brooks stated that she and Jason Strickler were in a verbal argument and he told her to get out of the residence. Brooks stated she went to her car and Strickler tried to keep her from taking the car, and a scuffle occurred. Brooks advised the alteration was mutual. Strickler reports Brooks attacking him for no reason. Due to the different versions of the incident Jason Lee Strickler, age 43, and Mary Alice Brooks, age 41, will both be summoned into Marietta Municipal Court for disorderly conduct.
On 18 May 2022 Deputy Davis responded to Muskingum Township to a report of an altercation at a campground on Gilman Avenue. An incident began when subjects came to the area to check on their parents. After completing the investigation David Paul Kalasky, age 65, 111 Country Meadows Drive, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence. Kalasky was transported to the Washington County Jail.
There are currently 24 female inmates and 67 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
