On 13 May 2022 Deputy Stillson began an investigation in Wesley Township regarding a theft/breaking and entering. The victim declined prosecution.
On 13 May 2022 Deputy Wallace began an investigation into a breaking and entering in Aurelius Township.
On 13 May 2022 Deputy Painter began an investigation of a missing/runaway juvenile in Watertown Township. The child was located and returned.
On 13 May 2022 Deputy Painter was dispatched to Emory Lane, Belpre Township, to a report of Lisa Offenberger wanting to harm herself. It was reported that Offenberger also had struck someone at the home. Lisa D. Offenberger, age 45, 30 Emory Lane, Little Hocking, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.
On 14 May 2022 deputies were attempting to serve a criminal warrant in Dunham Township. Deputies observed a vehicle driven by Paul Hostottle, who they knew by sight. A traffic stop was conducted due to active warrants for Hostottle. The registration on the vehicle driven by Hostottle should have been on a Chevrolet vehicle instead of a Dodge vehicle. Also confirmed was that Hostottle’s driving privileges were under suspension. Paul J. Hostottle, age 20, 1632 Twin Bridge Road, Vincent, OH, on the active warrant. Hostottle was also charged with driving under suspension and fictitious registration, and transported to the Washington County Jail.

Paul James Hostottle, age 20, Little Hocking, OH, breach of recognizance, alcohol under the age of 21 (2 counts), possession of drugs, driving under OVI suspension, OVI alcohol, drug of abuse or both (2 counts), driving under suspension, fictitious plates and possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.
Taylor Adam Merckle, age 27, New Matamoras, OH, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, and possession of heroin, a felony.
James Edward Gilles, age 34, Waterford, OH domestic violence, having weapons while under disability (6 counts), all felonies.
Jesse Ryan Shafer, age 37, Marietta, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony, and contempt of court, a misdemeanor.
Chadwick Lynn Smearman, age 41, Marietta, OH, parole violation, a felony.
Joseph Adam McKitrick, age 42, Marietta, OH, contempt of court 2 counts, 1 felony and 1 misdemeanor.
Brian Lee Miller, age 57, Marietta, OH, resisting arrest, breach of recognizance, public indecency, and disorderly conduct (2 counts), all misdemeanors.
There are currently 26 female inmates and 75 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
