On 22 Apr 2022 Deputy Kehl was dispatched to Rainbow View Drive, Muskingum Drive, to a report of a breaking & entering.  Deputy Kehl met with the owners who advised the residence is being prepared to be rented.  A vehicle had been seen at the residence, and the residence was checked finding the front door open and the basement door forced open.  Tools were reported as being stolen from the residence.  A check with dispatch revealed the owner of the vehicle observed at the residence.  It was learned that Bryce Stacy had purchased the vehicle and contact was made with Stacy.  Stacy advised he had forced the door open, and stated that Ronald E. Blackstone was with him during this incident, stating they hid a bucket of tools.  On 24 Apr 2022 Deputy Kehl, along with other deputies, arrived at 3645 Blue Knob Road, Warren Township, to continue the investigation involving this breaking & entering. Deputies met with Misty Caldwell, who stated she was the only one home.  A person of interest in this case, Ronald Blackstone, was found to be living at this same residence.  Caldwell stated that Blackstone was not there, that he had walked off and went towards State Route 7.   Deputies began checking the area and was advised that Blackstone should be inside the residence.  Caldwell eventually gave consent to search the residence for Blackstone, who was found in a bathroom.  Blackstone advised he left the residence and came back in through a back door.  A summons is being requested for Misty L Caldwell, age 44, 3645 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, OH, on a charge of obstructing official business and tampering with evidence.  Blackstone confirmed he was with Stacy at the residence, stating it was wrong, and they shouldn’t have been there.  The tools were recovered from the location given by Blackstone.  Ronald Eugene Blackstone, age 39, 3645 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with tampering with evidence, complicity to breaking & entering and receiving stolen property. A warrant was requested for Bryce Michael Stacy, age 23, 941 Nicolette Road, Parkersburg, WV, on a charge of breaking & entering and theft.  The warrant was issued and Stacy has been arrested in Wood County, WV.

On 24 Apr 2022 Charles Day Jr. reported being threatened with a knife in Marietta Township, Mount Tom Road.  Day advised he was attacked with a knife.  The subject stated that Day started an argument with him and another individual.  Day moved towards the subject in an aggressive manner, and also threatened to kill him. Due to Day’s behavior the individual grabbed a knife to protect himself, but did not threaten Day.  Day later returned with a garden hoe.  An odor of burnt marijuana was detected when deputies were meeting with Day, with him stating he smoked marijuana while standing in the driveway.  Several drug paraphernalia items could be seen laying on the ground by Day.  Marijuana was located in a plastic bag weighing 4.98 grams, and another weighing 0.3 grams.  Charles Edwin Day Jr., age 38, was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated menacing, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.                

On 25 Apr 2022 Deputy Aultman began an investigation in Dunham Township regarding a catalytic converter theft. On 25 Apr 2022 Sgt. Johnson responded to Williamson Avenue reference a domestic violence incident which occurred on 16 Apr 2022 in Grandview Township.  It was reported that Tony Pethtel was abusing a juvenile child at the complainant’s residence.   Pethtel and the child were engaged in a verbal argument which turned physical once Pethtel pushed the child, then struck him/her 15 times.  Tony L Pethtel, age, 47759 SR 7, New Matamoras, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.

On 25 Apr 2022 Deputy Painter was on patrol in Belpre Township when he observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The speed was confirmed at 102 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.  A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Tommy Lee Farmer.  A check of his driver’s license revealed it was expired since 2018.  Farmer, age 62, 2105 I 7 NE, Washington, DC, was issued a citation for reckless operation, speeding and no operator’s license. 

On 25 Apr 2022 Deputy Davis was on patrol in Belpre Township when he observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The speed was confirmed at 81 mph in a posted 60 mph zone.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Gerard Anthony Krzic, age 69, 9 Marietta Avenue, Athens, OH, was issued a citation for speed.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 26 Apr 2022:

Thomas Matthew Pearison, age 35, Belpre, OH, possession of drugs, a felony, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under suspension, fictitious plates, all misdemeanors.

Jason Robert Sokolowski, age 36, Rochester Hills, MI, fugitive from justice, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 26 female inmates and 73 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
