WCSO NEWS RELEASES – 22 APR 2022


On 15 Apr 2022 Deputy Wallace began an investigation into a theft in Lowell, Adams Township. 

On 16 Apr 2022 Deputy Davis began an investigation into a theft/scam in Muskingum Township.

On 17 Apr 2022 Deputy Painter was on patrol in Belpre Township when he observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The radar revealed the vehicle was travelling 92 mph in a 60-mph zone.  A traffic stop of the vehicle, driven by Christopher Graham, was conducted.  Graham was slurring his words, had glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol about his person.  Graham refused to perform standard field sobriety tests.  A check revealed Graham was driving on a suspended license.  Graham was taken to the Belpre Police Department to conduct a BAC test, which he refused.   Christopher Dale Graham, age 45, 2201 Rockland Avenue, Belpre, OH, was issued a citation for speed, driving under suspension, operating a vehicle while under the influence, and OVI refusal. 

On 18 Apr 2022 while patrolling Warren Township Deputy Tucker observed a truck bearing no visible registration traveling south bound on SR 7 near Bender Road.  A traffic stop was conducted on the driver, Russell McCabe.  A check revealed McCabe was driving on a suspended license.  McCabe advised of a handgun in the vehicle.  A citation was issued to Russell Allen McCabe, age 54, 141 Franklin Street, Marietta, OH, for driving under suspension, and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.    

On 18 Apr 2022 Deputy Young was dispatched to meet with a subject who had been assaulted while leaving work.  While waiting to leave work, the subject stated a vehicle pulled in and stopped in front of his vehicle.  The driver, James Farley II, was asked why he was at the business, in which Farley asked the subject what he was doing there.  The subject then returned to his vehicle to leave.  Farley exited his vehicle and followed the subject to his vehicle.  The victim was standing behind the door of his vehicle when Farley pushed the door into him forcing him to contact the side of his vehicle.  Farley spoke with deputies and denied the interaction had taken place.  Farley eventually admitted to the incident at the business.  James Paul Farley II, age 47, Brandy Drive, Marietta, OH, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for assault.

Jordan Leah Doak, age 25, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Joseph Vernon Turpin, age 23, Vincent, OH, theft, a misdemeanor.

Braydon Nathaniel Hook, age 21, Belpre, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Anthony Wayne Williams, age 50, Zanesville, OH, escape, a felony.

Wesley Travis Cox, age 37, Gallipolis, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 27 female inmates and 71 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
