On 11 Apr 2022 Deputy Young began an investigation into a stolen truck from Aurelius Township.
On 11 Apr 2022 deputies were patrolling State Route 821, Aurelius Township when a vehicle was observed parked partially in the roadway. The vehicle was facing south in the north lane, with the vehicle running and the headlights on. The male, identified as Tyler James Wittenbrook, had an odor of alcohol beverages on his person, with bloodshot and glassy eyes. After conducting the investigation Wittenbrook, age 21, 128 Harmar Street, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, weapons while intoxicated, open container, and aggravated menacing. Wittenbrook was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 11 Apr 2022 Deputy Wallace began an investigation in Liberty Township in reference to a reported theft of currency.
On 12 Apr 2022 deputies were dispatched to Beach Drive, Belpre Township, to a report of “drunk Billy” pulling a knife on someone. Billy, aka: William Bartges, had left the area in his vehicle with an unknown individual. A traffic stop was conducted on State Route 7 on the vehicle, finding Bartges inside. Bartges denied pulling a knife on anyone however admitted to holding the knife in self-defense, being a green and purple knife, he currently had on him. After conducting the investigation William Edward Bartges, Jr., age 49, 2800 Beach Drive, Lot 10, Belpre, OH, was arrested and charged with three counts of domestic violence.
On 12 Apr 2022 while patrolling, Deputy Painter encountered a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on State Route 7, Warren Township. The speed was confirmed by radar at 79 mph in a posted 60 mph zone. A citation was issued to Denver D. Hess, 87 Ash Street, Williamstown, WV, for speed.
On 13 Apr 2022 Deputy Painter was dispatched to Ridgewood Blvd., Belpre Township to a report of an assault. Kirstin Miller came to the residence and had left prior to deputies arriving. The homeowners and Miller were at the residence and she got up and threw a beer can away and attacked an individual without provocation. Kirstin B. Miller, age 38, 1008 Quincy Street, Parkersburg, WV, was later placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.
On 13 Apr 2022 Deputy Stillson began an investigation into a breaking and entering and theft in Waterford Township.
On 13 Apr 2022 Deputy Painter observed traffic violations while on patrol in Belpre Township. A citation was issued to Rylan E. Kadlecik, age 21, 4001 Oak Point Circle, McKees Rocks, PA, for speed, 95 mph in a 60-mph zone, and Beverly E. Nichols, age 53, 700 Columbia Avenue, Williamstown, WV, 79 mph in a 60-mph zone.

Joseph Wayne Fowler, age 24, Marietta, OH, 3 counts endangering children, aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.
Anthony Wayne Kincaid, age 30, Beverly, OH, breach of recognize and theft, both misdemeanors.
Matthew Edwin Deem, age 41, Belpre, OH, improper use of a certificate of title, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and 5 counts of tampering with records, all felonies.
Brian Michael Abbott, age 50, Belpre, OH, 2 counts domestic violence, both misdemeanors, and aggravated assault, a felony.
Tara Renee Jenkins, age 44, Little Hocking, OH, probation violation and breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.
Clayton Lee Joy, age 21, Newport, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Kenneth Estelle Haynes, age 18, Belpre, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Kirstin Brooke Miller, age 38, Parkersburg, WV, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 18 female inmates and 70 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
