On 28 Mar 2022 Deputy Aultman began an investigation into a theft from a vehicle in Belpre Township.

On 28 Mar 2022 Sgt. Johnson began an investigation in Muskingum Township at the Putnam School regarding vandalism.

On 28 Mar 2022 Deputy Painter while on patrol observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed in the oncoming lane.  A traffic stop was conducted on Jalynn Phillips, 4070 Cedar Hill Road NW, Canal Winchester, OH, and a citation was issued to Phillips for speed, 76 mph in a 60-mph zone.

On 28 Mar 2022 Deputy Painter was patrolling State Route 7, Belpre Township.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Ronald Woltz, was observed with an open alcohol container in the vehicle.  Woltz was slurring his speech and an odor of alcohol was noticed on his person.  After field tests, Woltz, Riverfront Road, Coolville, OH, was transported for a BAC test.  Woltz was issued a citation for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and open container.

On 29 Mar 2022 Sgt. McConnell began an investigation in Wesley Township regarding a trail camera and solar panels being stolen. 

On 31 Mar 2022 deputies responded to 158 Hollywood Drive, Belpre Township, to a report regarding Timothy Ogden stating he was assaulted by Jermaine Benson. The two were arguing and things escalated.  A summons is being requested for Timothy Eugene Ogden and Jermaine L Benson, 158 Hollywood Drive, Little Hocking, OH, for disorderly conduct.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 30 Mar 2022:

William Edward Bartges, Jr., age 49, Belpre, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Deidra Michelle Wriston, age 41, Marietta, OH, having physical control of vehicle and contempt of court, both misdemeanors.

Damion Anthony Brown, age 30, Marietta, OH, tampering with evidence, receiving stolen property, both felonies, misuse of credit card, 3 counts, all misdemeanors.

There are currently 17 female inmates and 75 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
