On 22 Mar 2022 Deputy Young began an investigation into a subject driving through yards and doing damage to property in Newport Township.

On 22 Mar 2022 Deputy Tullius responded to 18581 State Route 7, Warren Township for a theft complaint.  Contact was made with an employee at Auto Tech and Tire Center who advised on 21 Mar at approximately 2100 hrs. a subject driving a black Ford Ranger with chrome top rails and chrome grill came onto the property and stole 2 semi wheels, a Ford F150 wheel, a 6 slug aluminum wheel, a muffler and a tailpipe valued at over $1,000.00. The subject vehicle and person can be seen on security footage loading the items into the truck.  On 15 Mar Auto Tech & Tire Center also captured the same truck on security footage stealing semi rims, aluminum wheels and steel wheels.  The total value of these items is more than $2,000.00.  Multiple scrap yards were contacted in an attempt to locate the stolen items.  Deputy Tullius was provided with receipts for items purchased on 16 Mar and 22 Mar issued to Linda Currey, who at the time was driving a black Ford Ranger (matching security footage).  Contact with Currey was made.  Currey stated she did sell the scrap for another subject.  Linda Ann Currey, age 32, 1030 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.  Currey was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 22 Mar 2022:

Cody Montell Knotts, age 31, Marietta, OH, possession of drugs and possession of deadly weapons while under detention, both felonies.

Taylor Marie Wright, age 23, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Linda Ann Currey, age 32, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor, 2 counts receiving stolen property, both felonies.

There are currently 17 female inmates and 82 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
