WCSO NEWS RELEASES – 16 FEB 2022
On 12 Feb 2022 Lt. Parks was on patrol southbound on State Route 7, Belpre Township. A vehicle in front of Lt. Parks was observed, and a traffic stop was conducted after pacing the vehicle at 70 to 74 mph in a 60-mph zone. There was an odor of alcohol beverages coming from the driver, Kathy Hamilton. Hamilton’s speech was also slurred. Hamilton performed field sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on. Kathy Dawn Hamilton, age 49, 717 Hall Street, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and transported for a BAC. The results were .212 and she was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. On the charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs .17 of 1 gram or more by weight of alcohol per 210 liters of breath.
On 13 Feb 2022 Deputy Tullius began an investigation into stolen items reported in Belpre Township.
On 14 Feb 2022 Deputy Wallace began an investigation into campers at Davlin Lake being entered and items of value stolen and/or damaged.
On 14 Feb 2022 Sgt. Johnson began an investigation in Dunham Township of a 2018 Carry On utility trailer being stolen.
The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail between 14 Feb 2022 and 15 Feb 2022:
James Rusty Wallace, 36, Parkersburg, WV, failure to comply with order or signal of PO, elude or flee, 2 counts, both felonies.
Joshua Michael Miller, 39, Waverly, WV, possession of fentanyl, unlawful possession of dangerous ordinance, having weapons while under disability, and possession of drugs, all felonies.
Kevin Tracy Cherry, 38, Akron, OH, theft, a felony out of Stark County.
There are currently 13 female inmates and 77 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
