On 11 Feb 2022 a call was received from Wood County 911 advising an unknown subject was advising of an incident of violence was occurring at a Belpre Township location. Deputy Gainer and Lt. Parks responded to the location and met with subject(s) reporting an incident involving James E. Venham. Venham spoke with Lt. Parks and in conclusion James Edward Venham, age 43, Little Hocking, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.
On 12 Feb 2022 at approximately 1045 hrs. Deputy Martin and Sgt. Brown responded to 208 Upper Fifteenmile Creek Road in Liberty Township. The call was in reference to a welfare check of an individual that had stated they were with Homer M. Fry. During the investigation it was determined that Fry had hid the victim’s cell phone, or destroyed it, to keep them from calling for help. Fry then admitted to hiding the phone. Homer Melvin Fry, age 56, was placed under arrest for disrupting public services and domestic violence.
On 12 Feb 2022 Lt. Hornbeck began an investigation into a stolen utility trailer from Belpre Township.
On 12 Feb 2022 Deputy M.C. Stillson responded to Sheets Run Road, Grandview Township, to a domestic dispute. It was discovered that Bruce Leroy Addlesburger, age 35, New Matamoras, OH, had committed acts of violence and was placed under arrest and processed into the Washington County Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
On 12 Feb 2022 Lt. Hornbeck began an investigation in Newport Township of two walnut trees being cut down.
On 13 Feb 2022 Deputy Stillson was advised that Tanner Hazelton was in Grandview Township, driving by a residence and beeping his horn at a subject’s residence, and persons at the location, who were victims/witnesses of a previous crime. Deputies responded to New Matamoras, Ohio, and observed Tanner and another individual driving around New Matamoras. A traffic stop was performed on the vehicle. The other occupant of the vehicle, Nichelle Rose Kephart, Tazewell, Virginia, was found to have an active warrant out of Wyandott County for petty theft. Nichelle was also charged for obstructing official business and fugitive from justice, and transported to the Washington County Jail. Numerous reports have been made to law enforcement regarding Tanner attempting to contact the victim in a previous incident. Tanner Michael Hazelton, age 27, 319 Washington Street, St. Mary’s, WV, was arrested following this traffic stop in New Matamoras, Ohio. Moments later Tanner claimed he was having a medical emergency, in which medical attention was provided to Tanner. Tanner was eventually cleared and transported to the Washington County Jail where he is charged with menacing by stalking, intimidation of a victim and obstructing justice.

Dustin Dwain Wade, 34, Walker, WV, receiving stolen property and probation violation, both felonies, and drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Ashlee Nicole Haught, 29, Marietta, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
Paul Charles Wright, 34, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Devonne NMN Curtis, 62, Marietta, OH, assault, a misdemeanor.
Alexis Leeanne Clatterbuck, 22, Vincent, OH, probation violation, a felony.
Justin Tyler Sprague, 26, Newark, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.
James Edward Venham, 43, Belpre, OH, probation violation and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.
Homer Melvin Fry, 56, Wingett Run, OH, domestic violence a misdemeanor, and disrupting public service, a felony.
Bruce Leroy Addlesburger, 35, New Matamoras, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
David Allen Rummer, 58, Marietta OH, possessing drug abuse instruments.
Nichelle Rose Kephart, 33, Richlands, VA, obstructing official business and theft, both misdemeanors.
Tanner Michael Hazelton, St. Mary’s, WV, intimidation and obstructing justice, both misdemeanors, and menacing by stalking, a felony.
There are currently 16 female inmates and 82 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
