On 9 Feb 2022 Deputy Peters began an investigation into a missing Subaru vehicle from a car lot, Marietta Township.
On 9 Feb 2022 Deputy Hall began an investigation into a TPO violation.
On 9 Feb 2022 Sgt. McConnell began an investigation on Beach Drive, where a Samsung cell phone was stolen.
On 10 Feb 2022 Sgt. Johnson began an investigation into a missing tilt trailer that had not been returned to a rental company.
On 10 Feb 2022 Lt. Hunter began an investigation into a stolen dog.
On 10 Feb 2022 Deputy Wallace received a warrant from the Circuit Court of Marion County, WV, for the arrest of Melanie Ann Blake on charges of transferring and receiving stolen goods. The personal identifiers were compared with the information given during the booking process at the Washington County Jail and found them to match. Melanie Ann Blake, age 47, 1006 Fourth Street, Apt. 1, Moundsville, WV is charged with being a fugitive from justice.
On 11 Feb 2022 Deputy Sheaves requested a summons be issued through Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of willfully leaving junk motor vehicles. On 9 Feb 2022 follow up was conducted on the unlicensed junkyard at 1220 East Branch Road, Lowell. Vehicles were observed from the roadway, uncovered in the open. Those vehicles were clearly inoperable, either missing wheels, motor, etc. Larry Joy was notified via certified letter on 28 Jan 2022 that he had 10 days to either house the vehicle or remove them from the property.

Clarissa Moira Dougherty, 27, Marietta, OH, trafficking in drugs, a felony.
Christopher Paul Cook, 31, Marietta, OH, driving under suspension, fictitious plates, possessing drug abuse instruments, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, 12 pt. suspension, and no seatbelt.
Melanie Ann Blake, Moundsville, 47, WV, breaking and entering, possessing criminal tools, theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, all felonies, falsification and fugitive from justice, misdemeanors.
Rocky Shawn Simmons, 50, Ravenswood, WV, importuning, a felony.
Zachery Cole Winget, 27, Springfield, OH, failure to comply, a felony, and driving under suspension.
Courtney Nichole Clayton, 29, Marietta, OH, probation violation, theft, and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors.
There are currently 16 female inmates and 76 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
