WCSO NEWS RELEASES – 21 JAN 2022


On 16 Jan 2022 deputies were dispatched to Waterford Township in reference to a domestic dispute.  After conducting the investigation it was determined that Benjamin David Cunningham, age 37, Waterford, OH, would be placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence, unlawful restraint and disrupting public service.  Cunningham was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 18 Jan 2022  Captain Carr became aware of an incident that occurred at 1006 hrs. between inmates Lionel Gore and Robert Huffman, at the Washington County Jail, in which Gore assaulted Huffman with a deadly weapon.  Gore had been in bed, however got up and began swinging a laundry bag at Huffman, striking Huffman in the face numerous times.  The bag contained a digital tablet. Gore then dropped the bag and continued striking Huffman multiple times in the head and upper torso.  Gore continued the assault as Huffman was knocked to the ground.  Gore again retrieved the laundry bag and continued to strike Huffman in the back and head.  Jail staff quickly arrived and Gore dropped the weapon without incident.    Huffman was transported for medical treatment.  Lionel Justin Gore, age 34, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, OH, was charged with felonious assault and possession of a deadly weapon in a detention facility, both felonies.

On 18 Jan 2022 Deputy Peters responded to Rigel Recovery, Marietta Township, in reference to a criminal damaging complaint. It was reported that Braydon Hook had crawled into the drop ceiling and damaged the ceiling tiles.  Braydon Nathaniel Hook, age 21, 129 ½ Hamilton Court, Apt. A, Belpre, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with criminal damaging.

On 18 Jan 2022 Lt. Hunter completed a private property traffic crash report that occurred in Marietta Township.

On 20 Jan 2022 Deputy Peters responded to Muskingum township to a report of domestic violence.  After conducting the investigation it was determined that a warrant would be requested for Marquise Tyrone Marshall, age 25, Marietta, OH. 

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 20 Jan 2022:

Edgel Edward Goble, 31, Syracuse, OH, parole violation, possession of drugs, misdemeanors, and tampering with drugs, a felony.

Michael Lee Gray, 37, Marietta, OH, abduction and domestic violence, both felonies.

There are currently 12 female inmates and 75 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
