On 26 Dec 2021 deputies were dispatched to Ross Road, Decatur Township in reference to a 911 hang-up with yelling heard in the background.  Deputies were advised that Breanna Keffer resided at the home and had struck both of the residents with a closed fist, multiple times.  A 911 call was attempted with Breanna taking the phone and throwing it in the yard.  Breanna admitted to deputies that she had spit on and struck the residents, also throwing the phone while the call was being made.   Breanna N Keffer, age 19, Little Hocking, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with 2 counts of domestic violence, and 1 count of disrupting public service.  Keffer was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Dec 2021 Deputy Martin responded to Wesley Township, State Route 555, to a report of a cabin being entered and items taken, including a Honda Four Wheeler 400.  This case remains under investigation. 

On 27 Dec 2021 at approximately 2056 hours Lt. Parks was dispatched to Maple Street, Newport Township, to a report of Gennia Carte and her boyfriend fighting.  It was reported that Carte had struck the boyfriend in the head with something.  The victim states he was in the kitchen when Carte came up behind him and hit him in the head.  The victim thought that he was struck with her hand.  The victim also fell during the incident causing injury to his leg.  Carte was having a tough time standing, and her speech was slurred.  Carte stated she was in bed and denied hitting David.  After completing the investigation Gennia M. Carte, age 57, 130 Maple Street, Newport, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.  Carte was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Dec 2021 Deputy Gainer began an investigation into a breaking and entering at the Lawnsdale Bar, Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, OH.  This case remains under investigation.

On 28 Dec 2021 Deputy Tullius began an investigation into storage units being broken into in Dunham Township. This case remains under investigation. 

On 28 Dec 2021 Deputies responded to Calder Ridge Road to a complaint of tires being dumped.  This case remains under investigation.

On 28 Dec 2021 Sgt. Brown began an investigation into a breaking and entering of campers in Wesley Township.  This case remains under investigation.

On 28 Dec 2021 deputies began an investigation in Muskingum Township regarding stolen road signs.  This case remains under investigation.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 29 Dec 2021:

Clarence Otto Jeffers, III, 41, Marietta, OH, tampering with evidence, a felony, resisting arrest, driving under suspension and probation violation, all misdemeanors.

Jacob Edward Mason, 35, Marietta, OH, menacing by stalking, telecommunications harassment, and 2 counts of criminal damaging, all misdemeanors.

Daniel Earl Sciance, Jr., 25, Marietta, OH, importuning and possession of criminal tools, both felonies, driving under suspension and speed, both misdemeanors.

Gabrielle Elizabeth Rhoton, 26, Belpre, OH, breach of recognizance, criminal mischief, violation of protection order and menacing, all misdemeanors.

There are currently 10 female inmates and 63 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
