On 25 Dec 2021 deputies were dispatched to Luke Chute Road, Waterford Township to a call the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office received advising a male had been shot.  A local fire department had also received a call from James Way, stating his truck had been stolen. A traffic stop was conducted in Beverly on the vehicle in question.  It was reported by occupants that James Way had pulled a gun on them when they tried to leave the situation they were in, and was refusing to allow them to leave.  Way denied any knowledge of the aforementioned events stating he “blacked out” and could not remember what happened.  James Lee Way, age 51, 816 Luke Chute Road, Waterford, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful restraint and 2 counts of domestic violence.

On 25 Dec 2021 Sgt. Johnson made contact at the Washington County Jail and made contact with Justin Beeler. The warrant on Beeler was confirmed, with charges of unlawful restraint, domestic battery and interference, prevention or deprivation of access to emergency services, and fleeing from officer with reckless indifference.  The warrant was out of the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Parkersburg, WV.  A charge of fugitive from justice was filed on Justin L. Beeler, age 40, 629 Club Drive, Washington, WV. 

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail 28 Dec 2021:

Sandy Lee Taylor, 43, Marietta, OH, assault, a misdemeanor.

There are currently 8 female inmates and 64 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
