On 9 Dec 2021 Deputy Stillson was dispatched to 27811 State Route 7, Marietta Township, Big Hometown Motorsports.  A representative of Big Hometown Motorsports who stated that on 23 Oct Aalandiss Alie Lynch arranged for the purchase of a 2022 Polaris ATV over the phone.  Lynch arrived late in the day just before closing. Lynch wrote a check to the business in the amount of $9,243.87.  The business was unable to verify with Lynch’s bank if the funds were available due to lateness of the day.   Big Hometown Motorsports released the ATV to Lynch.  On 3 Nov a certified letter was sent to Lynch to rectify the bad check. On 27 Nov the certified letter was returned to sender due to not being claimed.   After completing the investigation a warrant was requested and issued out of Marietta Municipal Court on charges of bad check and theft for Aalandiss Alie Lynch, age 22, 7075 5Th Street, NE, Canton, OH.

On 11 Dec 2021 deputies were dispatched to 2800 Beach Dr. Lot 10, Belpre Township, to a report of William Bartges striking his spouse in the face.   Bartges refused to separate from his spouse to speak with deputies.  After completing the investigation it was determined that Bartges would be placed under arrest and charged with domestic  violence.   William Edward Bartges, age 48, 2800 Beach Drive, Lot 10, Belpre, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail charged with domestic violence and disrupting public service.

On 11 Dec 2021 deputies responded to Palmer Township to a domestic violence incident.  Richard Bohl was involved in an argument that turned physical.  The investigation was completed and Richard S. Bohl, age 28, 6589 State Route 676, Stockport, OH, on a charge of domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

On 11 Dec 2021 Deputy Painter issued a citation to a juvenile for travelling 102 mph on State Route 339 in a 45 mph zone and was cited for speed and reckless operation.

There are currently 7 female inmates and 69 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
