WCSO NEWS RELEASES FOR 23 NOV 2021  


On 15 Nov 2021 Deputy Painter was on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on State Route 7, Dunham Township.  Justin A. Patterson, 10414 Veto Road, Belpre, OH, was cited for 74 mph in a 60 mph zone. 

On 15 Nov 2021 Deputy Gainer was on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on State Route 7, Belpre Township.  Nathan Way Davis, 263 Linton Hill Road, Coolville, OH, was cited for driving under FRA suspension.   

On 16 Nov 2021 Deputies were dealing with a motor vehicle fire near 1776 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre Township.  The owner, Robert Tate, became belligerent and was directed to leave the area. A short time later Tate came back into the area and backed his truck into a driveway out of sight, approximately 100 yards from where deputies were monitoring the vehicle fire scene.  A short time later two very loud noises came from the direction where Tate had parked his vehicle.  Tate then walked down the roadway to the deputies.  Tate began yelling at deputies and using derogatory language.  Tate was advised that he would be charged with disorderly conduct, with him stating he could not be arrested due to COVID.  Tate was taken into custody and a search revealed shotgun shells in his pocket.  Once Tate’s vehicle was checked, a shotgun was found sticking out from under a blanket.  The gun matched the ammo found on Tate’s person.   A second shotgun was located behind the seat. An odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected about his person. When asked when he had consumed alcohol last he was unsure.  Tate was transported to the Washington County Jail where he was processed in on charges of disorderly conduct and weapons while intoxicated.  Tate’s PBT results were .03.

On 16 Nov 2021 Deputy Hall was made aware of a juvenile with alcohol mixed in with another drink.  After conducting the investigation charges of delinquent by underage possession of alcohol.

On 16 Nov 2021 Deputy Stillson began an investigation into storage buildings being entered on State Route 60, Muskingum Township.

On 16 Nov 2021 Deputy Young began an investigation in Waterford Township in reference to a theft of a toolbox and tools. 

On 17 Nov 2021 Deputy Peters responded to the Village of Lowell, in reference to a  Connie S. Schau, stealing one solar light out of the landscape.  Schau can be seen in the video walking by the landscaping and pulling the solar light out of the ground.  The solar light was recovered and returned to the owner.  A summons is being at requested for Connie Sue Schau, 68, 308 Third Street, Apt. A, Lowell, OH, for theft, in violation of section 2913.02 of the Ohio Revised Code, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

On 17 Nov 2021 Lt. Hunter began an investigation into the theft of money/services.  This case remains under investigation.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Nov 2021:

Andrew Joe Lucas, 47, Kent, OH, contempt and possession of drugs, both felonies.

Austin William Wright, 31, Marietta, OH, assault, a misdemeanor.

Barbara Ann Moore, 53, Cambridge, OH, possession of drugs, a felony, unauthorized use of motor vehicle and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

There are currently 10 female inmates and 66 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
