On 4 Sept 2021 Sgt. McConnell responded to the intersection of State Route 339 and State Route 550, Barlow Township, in reference to a report of a truck sitting at the intersection and the driver appearing to be slumped over.  The vehicle was located, and the driver, identified as David Graves, was found slumped over the steering wheel, with the truck still running and in drive.  Sgt. McConnell knocked on the window at which time Graves turned towards him and put his finger over his mouth as to try to get him to be quiet. Graves was asked to roll down the window and upon doing so an odor of alcoholic beverage was detected from inside the vehicle. When asked how much he had to drink Graves replied three Jack and Cokes.  When asked if there was anything in the vehicle that he shouldn’t have, he stated a loaded handgun in the center console and a gun in a case in the back seat.  Graves was then asked to exit the vehicle.  Graves was asked to submit to standard field sobriety tests and he stated he would. Graves was instructed on each of the tests and he performed poorly on all tests. David L. Graves II, age, 1014 23rd Street, Dickinson, TX, was arrested for OVI and weapons while intoxicated. Graves was transported to the Marietta Police Department and asked to submit to the BAC test.  Graves tested .076 and was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 4 Sept 2021 Sgt. Johnson and Deputy Peters were dispatched to the area of Bear Creek Road to a report of a female stating a man had an 8 year old with a gun making threats. While responding to the area, more information was received in reference to a subject having someone tied up at their house, or possibly a child banging on a window.  Deputies met with Angela S. Johnson, who stated she had just left a residence on Little Bear Creek Road where the resident was holding a child against their will.  Johnson stated the resident had a gun and was making threats.  Deputies responded to the address where this allegedly occurred and met with the resident.  After explaining why we were there he stated Johnson had not been acting right and was saying off the wall statements that didn’t make sense. Deputies were given full consent to search the entire property which they did, not locating  anyone on the property, nor finding evidence to show someone had been there. Deputies responded in an emergency manner due to multiple neighbors being worried about the safety of the child.  After completing the investigation it was determined that Angela Stephanie Diane Johnson, age 47, 1710 Browns Road, Marietta, OH, would be placed under arrest and charged with inducing panic.  Johnson was transported to the Washington County Jail.
