 On 27 Aug 2021 Deputy Martin began an investigation into a financial scam in Barlow Township.  This case remains under investigation.

On 27 Aug 2021 Sgt. Brown responded to the Duchess BP Gas Station, 100 Main Street, Adams Township, to a report of a theft.  A female was observed in the store, placing items in her purse and then leaving the store.  When approached, the female, removed a pop and a bag of chips.  The female then left the area.  The female was identified as Emma Muir and a summons will be requested for Muir, age 25, 695 Hayesville Road, Waterford, OH, on a charge of theft.

On 27 Aug 2021 Deputy Martin was dispatched to 40 Greenwood Circle, Warren Township to an altercation between the resident and moving company workers. While en route, dispatch advised that an employee of the moving company had called stating the resident, Jeffery Hay, had taken the ignition keys and a knife out of the moving truck.  Dispatch also stated that Hay had pulled a firearm on another employee of the company.  Deputy Martin met with Hay in the driveway of the residence.  Hay admitted to having a firearm and a knife on his person. Johnathon Ball stated that Hay didn’t believe he was moving fast enough and called the owner of the moving company.  Deputy Martin spoke with all parties involved.  At the conclusion of the investigation it was determined that Jeffery Michael Hay, age 47, 40 Greenwood Circle, Marietta,  OH, would be charged with aggravated menacing and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On  27 Aug 2021 Deputy Stillson was dispatched to 122 Tennis Center Drive, Apt 5, Marietta Township, to a report of Kelly Robinson hitting a female with the back door of his apartment.  Krystal Smith stated that as she was trying to move some belongings, Robinson came home and started an argument.  Smith had attempted to go through the back door when Robinson slammed the door on her face, knocking her down.  Robinson then slammed the door (repeatedly) on Smith’s arm which was over the threshold of the door.  Robinson was not available to speak with while Deputy Stillson was on scene. Deputy Stillson left the residence and a short time later Deputy Stillson was called back to the residence as Robinson had returned.   Robinson was located running into the woods and was apprehended.  Robinson, age 57, was charged with domestic violence and processed into the Washington County Jail.

Marcus Franklin Lamoreaux, age 48, Marietta, OH, 4 counts menacing by stalking (1 felony), violate protection order or consent 6 counts (5 felonies), and 3 counts aggravated menacing, all misdemeanors.

Joseph Vernon Turpin, age 22, Vincent, OH, aggravated menacing, drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, tampering with evidence and trafficking in drugs, both felonies.

Rose Marie McAfee, age 22, Vincent, OH, tampering with evidence and complicity to trafficking in drugs, both felonies.

Dakota Jay Robinson, age 19, Waterford, OH, gross sexual imposition, a felony.

Marshall Edward Jones, age 40, Lowell, OH, aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor.

Shawn Wayne Bailey, age 30, Reedsville, OH, driving under suspension and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.

There are currently 16 female inmates and 89 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
