On 22 Aug 2021 Deputy Aultman was dispatched to the 4000 block of State Route 339, Barlow Township, regarding a possible impaired driver. Contact was made with the driver while the passenger, Cory Saunders, exited the vehicle and entered the store. Saunders then provided his information to Deputy Aultman for a check through dispatch. Saunders then fled the parking lot. An active warrant out of Morgan County was found on file for Saunders. An extensive search led to the arrest of Cory William Saunders, age 30, 5400 North State Route 669NW, McConnelsville, OH, on a charge of obstructing official business and the active warrant.
On 22 Aug 2021 Deputy Painter made contact with Kristin K McCartney regarding a reported domestic incident from 2020. McCartney admitted to striking her ex-husband, and reported the two were arguing all day. McCartney, Parkersburg, WV, will be issued a summons through Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of domestic violence.
On 23 Aug 2021 Deputy Painter received information as to the whereabouts of Earl D. Griffin, who had an active warrant with our agency. Deputies proceeded to the location on Melody Lane. Upon deputies pulling in the front of the residence, a male could be seeing running through the back yard. Deputy Painter announced himself and ordered the male to stop. The male did not comply and a foot pursuit began with Deputy Painter apprehending Griffin and placing him under arrest. A search of Griffin revealed two syringes and a baggie of white crystal powder. Earl Dean Griffin, II, age 45, 2460 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments, possession of drugs, obstructing official business and the warrant for failure to appear. Griffin was processed into the Washington County Jail.

Marissa Sky Sites, age 21, Beverly, OH, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, hit skip private property, no operator’s license, and failure to control, all misdemeanors.
Fred Benjamin Lamp III, age 39, Parkersburg, WV, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of fentanyl, felonies, and obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 17 female inmates and 87 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
