Joint Criminal Interdiction Operation
On 9 Jul 2021 and 10 Jul 2021 between the hours of 1200 and 2000 members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol Criminal Interdiction Unit (Cambridge Post), Troopers with Ohio State Highway Patrol Marietta Post, and the Marietta City Police Department participated in a detail focused on criminal interdiction.
The detail focused on Interstate 77, State Route 7, and US 50, along with high call volume areas. At times 10 to 15 officers worked this detail, to include three K-9 handlers.
A total of 188 traffic stops were conducted
27 total charges and arrests were made with 9 being physical arrests and the remains being summons or being sent to the Grand Juy.
Those charges included OVI, felony and misdemeanor warrant arrest, having weapons while under disability, low level felony drug possession and misdemeanor drug possession.
