On 23 May 2021 Deputy Gainer began an investigation into trespassing in Belpre Township.  This case remains under investigation.

On 24 May  2021 Deputies Hall and Tullius were patrolling State Route 7 south in reference to a report of a white Chevy truck having a stolen license plate, which belonged to the caller.  Deputies located a vehicle matching the description in which the driver of the truck drove in an evasive manner behind a business, parking in between two other vehicles.  The driver was identified as William Kauff and he stated the license plates on the vehicle belonged to another individual.  Kauff also admitted to methamphetamine being in the truck, along with other drug paraphernalia, which was located and secured as evidence.  William Edward Kauff Jr., age 44, Gallipolis, WV, was arrested  and transported to the Washington County Jail.  Kauff was charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug abuse instruments,  drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. 

On 25 May 2021 Deputy Crum responded to Reynolds Landscaping, Drag Strip Road, Belpre, OH, in reference to stolen catalytic converters.  This case remains under investigation.

On 25 May  2021 deputies were dispatched to Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, OH, to a report of Erick Brooks being intoxicated and out of control.   Brooks had been in a verbal altercation with another individual.  Brooks was warned to cease his actions when Officers were there at approximately 1925 hrs.  Later on deputies were dispatched to the same location to a disturbance.  Erick James Brooks, age 32, 1576 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail.  Brooks was charged with disorderly conduct.  Once at the jail Brooks was given a PBT test where he tested 0.120 PBT.
