WCSO NEWS RELEASES FOR 13 MAY 2021


On 9 May 2021 Deputy Martin responded to Federal Road, Decatur Township, to a citizen reporting a suspicious vehicle in their driveway. The vehicle, a Pontiac 4 door sedan bearing Ohio registration, was in the driveway with the engine running, and the vehicle in gear.  The driver was observed slumped over towards the center console.  Attempts to wake the driver met with negative results.  It became apparent that forcible entry would be needed into the vehicle.  The driver, Gerald Gary, continued to go in and out of consciousness. Medical attention was given to Gary. When asked what Gary had used he stated “a line,” approximately two hours prior, and stated it was an “opiate, heroin, fentanyl or both.”  Gary was taken to MMH Belpre Campus and a citation for having physical control of a motor vehicle was filed on Gerald W. Gary, age 47, Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, OH. 

On/or about 9 May 2021 Deputy H. Tornes responded to Cutler, OH, to a report of Misty Sealey grabbing a juvenile by the throat, pushing her into a wall, and swinging a wooden paddle at her.  After speaking with all parties involved, Misty Gene Sealey, age 39, 17747 Whealdon Road, Cutler, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.  Sealey was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 9 May 2021 Deputy Gainer began an investigation into a domestic violence incident.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail on 12  May 2021:

Reginald Terrel Sims, age 29, Belpre, OH, assault, aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, both misdemeanors,  and failure to comply with order or signal of PO elude or flee, a felony.

Justin Michael Seymour, age 41, Middleport, OH, failure to comply, a felony,  and domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

Mary Alice Brooks, ag 40e, Newport, OH, theft, a felony.

Darlene Marie Seckman, age 31, Zanesville, OH, tampering with evidence, possession of drugs, 2 counts, all felonies.

Gary Dale Stafford, age 43, Zanesville, OH, nonsupport of dependents, misdemeanors,  improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, possession of drugs, 2 counts, all felonies.

Amy Lee Grosselin, age 46, Belpre, OH, speed and failure to reinstate, both misdemeanors.

There are currently 29 female inmates and 89 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
