On 27 Apr 2021 Sgt. McConnell began an investigation into an unruly juvenile.  This case remains under investigation.

On 28 Apr 2021 Deputy Martin was conducting an investigation.  A vehicle registered to John J. Woods IV, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, OH, was on the scene. Deputy Martin determined the owner had an active warrant out of West Virginia for Parole Violation.  John J. Woods IV, age 44, was located and placed under arrest for being a fugitive from justice.

On 30 Apr 2021 Lt. Hunter, Deputy Johnson, and Deputy Peters responded to 50 Wilson Street, Newport, OH, in reference to a domestic dispute. Brian Woodby was advised why Officers were there and asked to tell them what was going on.  Woodby stated he and his wife were having issues.  Mrs. Woodby stated Brian was throwing things and punching the walls.  Brian David Woodby, age 37, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail on a domestic violence charge. 

On 30 Apr 2021 Lt. Hunter met with Probation Officer Johnson regarding illegal firearms and drugs found in the home of Aaron C. Brooks, 1776 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, OH.  All evidence was seized and Brooks was transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, and having weapons while under disability.

On 1 May 2021 the Washington County Jail received two warrants for James Miller Johnson III, a current Washington County Jail inmate.  One warrant was filed on 3 Dec 2019 with the original complaint of failure to appear on a charge of possession of firearm prohibited (State of PA), dated 12 May 2019.  The second warrant was filed on 20 Dec  2019 with the original complaint of arrest prior to requisition (State of PA) being dated 5 Nov 2019.  Information received at the jail while booking Miller was compared to the information contained in the warrant, finding them to be a match.  James Miller Johnson, age 32, 752 Weadock Street, Lima, OH, was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Andrew Joseph Bobier, age 38, Lowell, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Brandon Lee Hoffert, age 36, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor

Winter Lynn Delancey, age 31, Caldwell, OH, theft, a misdemeanor.

Dustin Dewain Wade, age 33, Coxs Mills, WV, 2 counts domestic violence, theft, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, and 2 counts criminal trespassing, all misdemeanors,  disrupting public service, aggravated burglary, possessing criminal tools, theft, and menacing by stalking, all felonies.

Joshua Cecil Poole, age 33, Marietta, OH, probation violation, breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors, possession of drugs, a felony.

There are currently 25 female inmates and 92 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
