National Correctional Officer Week

On May 5, 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first full week of May as National Correctional Officer Week.

During the week of May 2 – 8, 2021, we want to recognize all correctional officers who exemplify professionalism, integrity and strength in the face of a difficult, and often dangerous, work environment.  We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who currently works in the Washington County Jail or other correctional facility, or has in the past.  Thank you for your dedication and service.  You are very much appreciated and deserving of recognition for the job that you do.
